  1. The church is not a building. Christians make up the church. For Christ is the head of the church. Not a building, but of people. We are all supposed to be "blameless and pure children of God." Sometimes people do things that they are not called to do but they are still at good at. My mom is a teacher, but she knows that she is called to be a missionary. Sure sometimes a pastor not be called to Pastor a church. But he may still be a good teacher of the Word. If you don't think that this person was not called to lead than you don't have to stay at the church. I am sure there are many churches to choose from.
  2. Yup! A couple of people that I know have linked it to another verse, altho I can't think of it at the moment. It's weird....
  3. I agree with you! Some people say that that's not what they are talking about when seay "when perfect comes."
  4. We may always be talking to God, and God will be takling back. But do you take time to stop and listen to what God is saying? I"ve been praying to God for the past 2 months with the same request. And I was getting discourage. But I kept praying and this past weekend he answered my prayer. He used another person to speak to me. God is everywhere. But we always have to stop and listen.
  5. In KJV 1 Cor 13:9 (can't remember exact verse) but it says that tongues will cease. The original Greek meanig for this word is pauo. In this verse the tense form of this word is future tense.
  6. If you confess with yuor mouth that Jesus is Lord, and God raised him from the dead you will be saved. The onlyunforgiveable sin is blaspheming the Holy Spirit, which means to deny God and all that He has done for you. To reject Him. That is teh only way that you can go to hell. God saves us by His grace, and not by our works... lest anyone boast.
  7. Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip as he preached the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Baptism is an outward demonstration of an inward faith. It has nothing to do w/ salvation. Baptism symbolizes a burial. A burial of our old life, and coming up a new person. But the thing is is that when we become a christian we want to be more like Christ. And Jesus was baptised.... why wouldn;t we want to do something that jesus saw a significance in? BUt no, I do not think that it is required for salvation.
  8. Eadweard are you asking these questions in hope that you find God? or what? Because if you truely seek after God, God will reveal himself to you. What about supernatural healing.... how do you suppose that happens? Especially when we are praying to God for healing, and it's not wishful thinking. My sister was healed, had 3 fractures in her leg. Pastor prayed over her. No trace of the fracture, none what so ever. My grandma had a broken arm, they put a cast on her arm the day after she broke it, and after God had healed her. The doctor wouldn't believe her so they went ahead and put a cast on her arm. The next morning the cast was laying beside her inthe bed. Seek God and you will find Him.
  9. The Bible mentions the nationality of Hitittes. Archaeologists always used to use this to say that the Bible was not true since they never found the nation of Hitittes. But they found it, altho I can't remember where they found it. So how would a book that some people say not true have a record of a nation that archaeologists just found?
  10. I believe that there has to be a second baptism. But you don;t necessarily have to have someone pray over you. You can pray that for yourself, you don't need other people to do it for you.
  11. I've never had a miraculous healing like those. But my grandma and my sister have. My sister had 3 fractures in her leg, and we found out the day before we left for our mission's trip to Mexico. Of course we still went, but it hurt her quite a bit. The 3rd day in she was regreting her decision for more then one reason. 1. because her leg hurt unbareably bad and 2. because she couldn;t do anything. On Easter Sunday her mission's church wanted her group to stay for service. All through out teh service she was yelling at God. Asking him why he didn't heal her and yadda yadda yadda. The preacher called her up to the front. And when my sister was seated in a chair, the pastor began to pray over her. Right before she was healed an intense pain shot up her leg and she started to cry. Then as quick as it came, it went away. Then she felt no pain... the pastor told her to get up, jump, run, move around. She was healed!! But the most joyful part is is that while all of this was happening someone that I know was telling God that unless he saw a miracle right then he was giving up on Him. That he was walking away from it all. And not 2 minutes later, my sister walks in w/ her leg healed. IT'S SOOOO AMAZING HOW GOD WORKS!!!! When we went home my doctor (who's a Jew, kind of funny how that worked out) took x-rays and couldnt find a trace of the fractured bones. We know him quite well... and he knew what we believed. He still hasn't accepted the fact that my sister was healed. My grandma when she was little fell and broke her arm. IT was pretty messed up, so she went to the doctors and they just put her in an over night cast and told her to come back the next day. On teh way home her mom called some people that they knew at the radio station and asked them to pray for her. So a coupel of minutes later they prayed for my grandma over the radio. While they were praying my great grandma and my grandma watched as her arm was healed. Nothing was wrong w/ it! The next day she tried to go to gym class but the burse owuldn;t let her because she knew that she had broken her arm the day before. So the nurse called her aunt and told her to take her to teh doctors to get a cast. So they went oto teh doctors and my grandma tried to explain that it wasn;t broken anymore, but the doctor didn't listen. they put the cast on her arm (teh kind that goes up over the elbow) and sent her home. The next morning she woke up and found the cast laying beside her. There wasn't a crack in it! God had taken it off her arm. JESUS RAWKS MY SOX OFF!!!
  12. All you have to do is say "In the name of Jesus I bind you Satan and all your demons and I cast you away" Jesus gave us the authority. We just have to use the power of His name. And when we do use the power that he gave us, the Devil has to obey us. Just speak in authority the next time it happens, hopefully it won't happen again. God Bless Rach
