  1. I love how Christians today don't see the blasphemies that are happening right under their noses.

They take it as a light joke, yet it's only because they are blind. They are blind because they don't ask to see, and when they ask to see they don't believe they will see.

The first site of a trial or tribulation comes along and they run and hide and say it's not from god.

Be still and know that there is but one god.

Be still in flesh, in mind, and in spirit and just listen.

    Are you kidding?.....

Are you pretending to be a Christian so you can bother us, or are you really saying how you feel?

I dont know which one is more frightening. :24:

  2. "My" Truths are the same as yours.

It's all a matter of when. I've gotten over my worldly possessions such as when my country was established.

It's nice to know there is unity in the church.

I'm sorry, I should have been more simple.

Get offended all you want, I'm not persecuting you for your beliefs, I'm pointing out that it's a useless thing to celebrate.

Just like Capitalist-mas for most people.

Wow, I'm sorry that the only free country (and God-founded) in the world isn't something you see worthy to celebrate, but the rest of the people on this board do. I'm not sure if your from America (I sure hope not because then you've set yourself up for alot of contradictions) or from another country, but we don't need that kind of poor attitude in a thread that was meant for us to celebrate our country.

    GOD BLESS AMERICA!

  3. WOW! Sometimes I cannot believe how ignorant and hypocritical the world can be! So lets break this down for them:

Lets say they are RIGHT, and some people are mentally born homosexual. Now is it normal to be homosexual? No, it is not. Because only 2% of the world is homosexual, therefore it is not normal. That and the fact that if everyone was homosexual, the world would cease to exist. So shouldn't they treat it as an abnormal birth defect as they do everything else? (ie: A.D.D, Cromes Disease, Dwarfism, child onset diabetes, etc...). Anything someone is born with that is not normal is treated, correct? So why are they just trying to make homosexuals MORE homosexual? You dont see diabetes parades of people refusing treatment to embrace their onset diabetes because they were born that way. It is not only ignorant but incredibly hypocritical of the world to treat homosexuality as they do. (Not to mention that its the biggest bastion for the spread of HIV AIDS the world has ever known).

That was looking at this issue just from a non-christian standpoint. If we look at it from that standpoint, there's a whole other ballpark of arguments against it.

  4. Prophets are a prime example of the overuse of metaphors and underlying meanings and they rarely stressed when they were speaking "plainly". What Jesus did was planned perfectly for, not only that generation's understanding, but the many generations to come.

Wow, thats a pretty awesome statement. I've never thought about it like that before, but it makes much sense. If Jesus talked to them in their culture's vernacular, they would have probably understood everything perfectly, where our generation would suffer to understand what he was trying to say. Jesus was/is an incredibly intelligent being to know such a thing as that. He is awesome!

  5. I recently saw Evan Almighty with my girlfriend, and we thought it was a very good movie. It's pretty much 100% clean, and while it pokes some fun with the story of Noah, I feel it carries many valuable lessons out for the world today.

The first one being to obey God, because you can't always see what He has in store, but if you trust in Him he won't lead you astray.

The Second one being that just because you haven't been walking with God, doesn't mean he doesn't exist and isn't working in your life (and that he has stopped loving you).

What do you think about this movie? And what other messages do you think it carries?

    Blessings!

    ~Aaron

  6. I would have to agree with Floatingaxe, that homosexuality is definately a demonic spirit that comes upon that person. How do I know? Because dispite what they say, God does not create homosexual people, they aren't born that way. Why therefore, do they have those 'feelings'? Because they have somehow opened themselves up to that spirit and are now in bondage over it. I think that the best place to start praying first for my Uncle, is that The Lord would somehow deliver him from that spirit of homosexuality.

  7. Shalom Aaron,

The question is not whether someone believes in Jesus, but are they born-again by faith in Jesus? Even the demons believe!

    James 2:19

You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe--and shudder!

If one is truly changed (the old nature has been crucified with Messiah) then they will NOT willfully participate in sin any longer. We MUST count ourselves dead to sin and alive in Messiah. If someone is unwilling to do that, then I am not sure they are truly saved.

    Romans 6

1What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? 2By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? 3Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

5For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6We know that our old self[a] was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. 7For one who has died has been set free from sin. 8Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9We know that Christ being raised from the dead will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. 10For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. 11So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

12Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal bodies, to make you obey their passions. 13Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. 14For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.

Wow, there certainly are alot of different takes on this subject. First of all I really appreciate everyones input. It took me like an hour to read through all 5 pages lol. Yes, you are all right in that my Uncle is STILL a practicing homosexual, and isn't doing much to turn from his sin. I really dont see much of any fruits of Christ in his life, other than that he's a 'good person' by human standards.

It's a hard subject to talk about with him because you know with homosexuals, if you question their sexuality you are questioning the very core of who they are. They define themselves by their sexuality, wheras straight people only see that as a fraction of their life.

I'm not sure where to start with him, but prayer is certainly a good place. God Bless all of you for your input, it is greatly appreciated!

  8. hi iam kind of new, but im my opinion he should be saved(let jesus and God in heart)and try and turn from that stuff...he may struggle but as long as he try...im no expert just my opinion.if hes already saved then forget the part i said about getting saved...anyway see ya around bye :emot-pray:

I think your absolutely right about him being saved firstly. He grew up in a christian household, and says that he has confessed and believes Jesus Christ to be his Lord and Savior. The sad part is that he obviously does not have a relationship with Him if he is still in this lifestyle. It's just not something you can go up to him and say 'repent and stop being a homosexual.' It's hard to know what approach to take

  9. My Uncle is a homosexual, and as you can imagine this is hard for me because I love him very much. He's so incredibly funny, and fun to be around, that it kills me to think of this lifestyle he is stuck in.

So I have this question: Do you think that homosexuals, if they believe in Jesus, will go to hell?

I know that 1 Cor 6:9 says "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inhereit the kingdom of God? Do not be decieved. Niether fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulturers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites (male homosexuals).....10 will inherit the kingdom of God."

I always have thought that verse means exactly what it says, until I came across this verse: Romans 14:17 "For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."

Which would obviously mean that a homosexual cannot experience those things while in that sin. Please tell me what you think on this subject. Thanks!

    Be Blessed,

    ~Aaron

  10. that is an awesome story. Homosexuality is always kind of a touchy subject for me because my Uncle who I love very much, is gay. He seems to think that the family is against him and doesn't accept him, so he isolates himself and goes further into his gay lifestyle (my family is a line of pastors about three generations back). He knows nothing about God's love or acceptance of him, and how he doesn't have to live that way. I want to save him from this lifestyle so badly, but its just not as easily done as it is said.
