  1. Ok, so if someone were to knock on your door right now, tell you that HE is God, and perform a whole lot of supernatural feats, perhaps turn your cat into an ashtray, you would refuse to believe that he was God, because he failed to come from the clouds, and you were the first to witness him instead of everyone simultaneously? You'd say "It's not about turning my cat into an ashtray, you must comply with this book I've got!"?
  2. Sorry, I must have remembered wrong. I thought there was something about judging him by his fruits? But I did a search and couldn't find that. In that case, how will you recognize the anti-Christ? He is supposed to claim to be Jesus, do good works, but not have supernatural powers, right? So maybe we need a hotline for the anti-Christ, so that Jesus can finally arrive and do battle with him? Also, as for EVERYBODY seeing him, does that mean instantly? Is someone going to wake up everyone who is asleep and make them see a 2 metre tall man from a distance of thousands of kilometres, in the dark, and around the curvature of the earth, or what?
  3. By what means? Why did the bible say you can see by his deeds, if there's going to be some sort of supernatural proof? What you're missing is answering the question. Do you require supernatural proof? Will you reject someone who doesn't have supernatural powers? Do you understand that supernatural powers mean the end to faith?
  4. Perhaps that would happen over time. If it happened instantly, it would be supernatural. So, if Jesus were just starting that process, what obstacles would he encounter? Would you be one of those obstacles?
  5. There are heaps of people doing that already. So they are all Jesus? So you require supernatural proof - the end of faith? Also supernatural. So Jesus could be standing right in front of you, and you would reject him because he doesn't have supernatural powers?
  6. Has anyone given any thought to the logistics the second coming of Jesus would face? The bible says that you will recognize him by his deeds. It doesn
  7. It had to be that way. How else could God create a universe with intelligent creatures in it, yet still convince some people that there was no god? The bible is deliberately vague, and this earth is a puzzle for you to solve. The real question is - did you rise to the challenge?
  8. You just don't know where to look to see him. He wasn't totally evil, quite the opposite in fact, but Jesus did in fact destroy him.
  9. What did he say that wasn't true? He supported the Iraq war! How on earth is that "peace at any cost"?!
  10. That's pretty close to the truth. But where did you get this idea from?
  11. I would say that the anti-christ was someone who didn't believe that the bible, e.g. the OT commandment to stone people who work on the Sabbath, was the word of God.
  12. I think that the anti-christ is real, is here, is symbolic, and you can see him if you take a look. He was born a Christian, disliked Christians who weren't remotely following the principles of the bible, and then sought to destroy Christianity.
  13. Yes, this is very amusing. What you say is exactly right. However, to me, this is the strength of Christianity. No-one owns the definition, and there is a great variety of ideas, and it has quite frankly, led to a lot of very nice people. The days of Christians burning heathens at the stake are long gone. Christians are incredibly tolerant in comparison.
  14. Wow. As far as I'm aware, in Australia and the UK the attendance has falled below 1% already. Don't you think it is better to actually do something to help people rather than listen to the same sermon for the millionth time?
  15. Don't you think that God would protect freedom of speech rather than be a petty tyrant? Don't you think he would take after Voltaire's "I disapprove of what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it"? Don't you think that Voltaire's saying would move God to tears of happiness?
