  1. Hi winsomebulldog, I have no disagreements with you. But I do have one question. Did you read my first post? I said that I wanted to find a church but so far could find none. I said it was uncomfortable to be without a church I could go to so was considering starting a home church. CSLewis didn't read my post correctly and took it out of context but I didn't bother to point it out to him. Anyway, my issues with the churches here is nothing to do with disagreements on doctrine but the conduct of the believers. I found one time a church that I absolutely loved. It was amazing and I was having a great time in their fellowship except for the congregation being cold to me, since I was probably the youngest person there. Anyway.. one day, one of ladies there called my mom and said "congratulations on your son receiving Christ and coming to OUR church!". It was a penetcostal church I was going to and my whole family is orhtodox. When my mom heard this she freaked out on me and absolutely went balaistic on me. So, not wanting to offend her (Matthew 17:27), I stopped going until I could slowly and easily break it down to hear that the orthodox church is seriously misguided. Yet I would sneak out whenever I could to find another church where there weren't loose lips. Finally one day I moved out of my parents house. When I moved out, I told the LORD "God you know the first thing I'm going to do is find a church and get planted"... and that is what I did.. I looked found a great one near by and started attending it. After the third time going there I got sick to my stomach.. I though.. gosh is there no church that is preaching the word?? What these people were doing is preaching worldly messages and the sermon was only 30 minutes long AND to make matters even worse than that, took took the offering BEFORE the service even started. I was constantly being stalked by these church leaders too so that they can "SAVE" me even though I was already saved. Everyone there seemed to look at me with glossy eyes as if I was despised in their site. So I left. A couple of months ago found another church and thought to myself finally this one ought to be good. Because one of my new friends who is as fervent as me in the Lord was telling me great things about it. When went, I got a very unwelcoming spiritual experience lets say that. This was a charismatic church.. and I was really questioning what they were doing... but I held on and waited to see more. I would notice, issues here and there of pride or immaturity from the church leaders and members but I over looked it because I was desperate to become a church member some place. I came to finally accept them and started to become one of their members. Then one day, the leader of the cell group that I go to approached me on the phone about why I chose not to attend the "encounter" retreat. I didn't want to tell him that things were financially tough for me so I told him the secondary reason for why I was not going. Then he started to lecture me for almost an hour about how if I did not go to the retreat. I couldn't become a member of that church and that I would be a guest. And he welcomed me to leave! All this while I know that in that church I went to some of my friends told me they never went to an encounter. And all just suggested that I go because it would be fun. Not the 12 step process he told me over the phone. I told this to the friend who invited me to that church in the first place and she was shocked. Telling me she coldn't belive how they treated me. So I said, I will not come for about two weeks but I'll come later when I'm not angry. About 2 weeks later I get a text message from one of the church leaders asking me why she hasn't seen me in such a while. So thinking she had good intentions I told her what happened. Then she started to tell me that the cell group leader was in the right and I was in the wrong and that I needed to repent????? Now why on earth would I go to there assembly if the church leaders are this cold to their members?
  2. There is not one church in all of the metropolis of Toronto that you can worship God? Church is an oppurtunity for us to worship Him, and at the same time love our neighbors and join with other believers in body and spirit. It is SO important. It doesn't matter if you don't agree 100% with the pastor or priest, or with the denomination, it's not about that, it is about coming together as the Body of Christ and partaking of communion and worship together. To read his word together. To pray together. Nobody is perfect. If only perfect people went to church the pews would be empty. Haven't you read this in the Bible? 1 Corinthians 15:30-33 30 And why should we ourselves risk our lives hour by hour? 31 For I swear, dear brothers and sisters, that I face death daily. This is as certain as my pride in what Christ Jesus our Lord has done in you. 32 And what value was there in fighting wild beasts—those people of Ephesus—if there will be no resurrection from the dead? And if there is no resurrection, “Let’s feast and drink, for tomorrow we die!” 33 Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.” And 2 Corinthians 11:4 You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed. And 1 Corinthians 5:11 I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don't even eat with such people. I will not associate myself with such people... as Paul said. "Bad company ruins good morals"
  3. Any of you guys use this program? Its a free audio chat room http://www.paltalk.com/ Just like Worthy Chat except you can host a discussion and one person speaks while people raise their "hand" if they want to add their own insight. It's really fun and thought it would be good to have a Worthy Room on there after seeing -RadicalMan- post his topic invite for Numerology and Geneology on Worthy Chat. Did I confuse you guys? Anyway, give it a try.. I use this program with another church and it's been amazing to say the least.
  4. I get what you mean. I can totally relate... Church seems to some people a social club than an actual place of worship. Something that was hard for me to get over was the fact that, our expectations of Christians should not be any different from the world. I know this is real sick.. but seriously, its best if we don't look at others but focused more on ourselves to improve our walk and to examine our motives. I don't have a church that I can go to. It was the same reason you pointed out.. And it's really sad. So I listen to podcasts of Churches I like which are all throughout the Unites States and try to keep up to do date with what they are doing. On Sundays' I teach at a Orthodox Church the true gospel to the sunday school students... But something inside of me is missing just like you. I keep having these dreams of going to buy bread and only finding half eaten ones. Jesus said "I am the bread of life". God said "is any one hungry? come take your fill of wine or milk, its all free"... but I have yet to find it. A place where I can be completely satisfied. If I just at home by myself, worshiping the lord I do a big disservice to myself and others... anyway.. recently I started thinking about starting a home church here since there are no good churches in Toronto. But throughout these 3 years that I have been a born again believer Worthy has become my church more than anything. I love the people here and I can confide in them. Don't go back to your old friends, believe me, they will try to pull you back into sin. I just cut off the last old friend this past week and feel the freedom already.
  5. YES Maybe the angels had intercourse with women again.. angels don't die because of floods. They are immortal beings.
  6. Reminds me of the parable of the wedding banquet (the one whee the man was thrown out for not wearing the right clothes). Couldn't say, though, who or what your mother represents and if the "you" in the dream is you. Yeah I thought of that same parable which is why I was so shocked. I know that Biblical speaking I have the better understanding than they do. I'm not sure though.... I had a dream a long time ago, It never left me, that a woman like Mary interceded for me. That also was a big confusion... what would Mary have to do with intercession??? Was she really Mary? I have no idea, but all I know is that there was a woman pleading Jesus for me. Yet... in all of this I know very well that we only have one mediator.. the man Jesus Christ. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" 1 Timothy 2:5
  7. Thanks everyone.. Dave, the verses on grass was a real eye opener. Isa 40:8 The grass withers, the flower fades: but the word of our God shall stand forever. Men may strive with the Lord, but not forever, they will be cut down as the grass. It was very interesting.. still I wonder because in one of those dreams. I was on the front yard then when I came inside there were so many women with wedding clothes on. And I saw my own mother in the middle of them and she said to me "Change you clothes!" because I was in jeans and t-shirt but I scoffed and payed no attention going straight into my room. When I went there there was a man who I know to be a terrible sinner. He was sitting on my bed and started talking to me when he saw me come in. Something about going somewhere? Can't remember but could it be he was a driver because he had car keys in his hands. Yet he was dressed no differently than I was? It was really odd... but I think I kind of got the interpretation. Yes for number 2 I knew that one right off the bat. It freaked me out.. I need to do something about it. JCISGD, I understand. Some people just haven't received the full revelation yet of God speaking to us through dreams yet. It's cool. Doesn't bother me..
  8. Please pray!! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100429/ap_on_...2hpbmFzY2hvb2xh
  9. These are re-occurring dreams. I've been having A LOT of dreams where I am: 1. In front of or standing on mowed down grass 2. Going to the Store 3. Buying Bread or Holding it Any ideas? I got an idea on number 2 but I would like to hear what ya'll have to say..
  10. Because a more literal translation would say "All the land." At that time there was no concept of planet Earth, so the writer(s) of Genesis wouldn't record it as such. There's another debate about this in another thread ("Was the flood literal" or something like that). This would be a better place for the discussion so as not to hijack this thread any further. But I was just pointing out the argument to answer your question. Well you know Job and his friends knew the earth was circular and that is the oldest book in the bible...
  11. I dont buy a word of this...
  12. BEIRUT (AP) — A Hezbollah official on Wednesday slammed comments by the U.S. defense secretary accusing the militant group of having more weapons than most governments in the world, and pledged ... <snip> His remarks, which were published by the Lebanese daily As-Safir, came in response to statements made by Defense Secretary Robert Gates accusing Syria and Iran of supplying Hezbollah with increasingly sophisticated weaponry. "We are at a point now where Hezbollah has far more rockets and missiles than most governments in the world," Gates said Tuesday in Washington after a meeting with the Israeli Defense Minister, Ehud Barak. Israel has accused Syria of providing Hezbollah with Scud missiles, which have a greater range and can carry a much bigger warhead than the rockets Hezbollah fired at Israel in the past. Syria has denied the allegations, as has Lebanon's Western-backed prime minister. ...read more here.... http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/04/28/he...emarks-weapons/ As I was reading this, this came to mind. Ezekiel 39 The Slaughter of Gog’s Hordes “Son of man, prophesy against Gog. Give him this message from the Sovereign Lord: I am your enemy, O Gog, ruler of the nations of Meshech and Tubal. 2 I will turn you around and drive you toward the mountains of Israel, bringing you from the distant north. 3 I will knock the bow from your left hand and the arrows from your right hand, and I will leave you helpless. 4 You and your army and your allies will all die on the mountains. I will feed you to the vultures and wild animals. 5 You will fall in the open fields, for I have spoken, says the Sovereign Lord. 6 And I will rain down fire on Magog and on all your allies who live safely on the coasts. Then they will know that I am the Lord. 7 “In this way, I will make known my holy name among my people of Israel. I will not let anyone bring shame on it. And the nations, too, will know that I am the Lord, the Holy One of Israel. 8 That day of judgment will come, says the Sovereign Lord. Everything will happen just as I have declared it. If a war between Israel and Iran started and Israel knocked out their nuclear weapons before they could use them. Do you suppose Hezbollah and Hamas or other similar groups would launched all their missiles simultaneously into Israel? Sorry if this sounds like doomsday thinking. I just wanted to know if it were a possibility. What do you think? I could very clearly see how that would fulfill the passage above in a way.. what do you think?
  13. Do you really think that 40 days is long enough for marine fossils to make it up to mountain tops?
  14. Here is a great video animation of what he is talking about in his book http://www.thetaxpayerschannel.org/graphic...ion/fonte23.mov

  16. The only objection I have - and I don't know if this can be proven or disproved by either side - is what the "entire earth" means. To us, Earth means the globe. But the concept of the globe did not exist back then that we know of. The word "earth" in Hebrew is eretz, which means "land". Even in our language "earth" is another term for soil. Basically, when it became understood that the land we live on is in a globe shape, people called the entire structure "ground" or "land" - even though we now know the bulk of the planet is ocean! We live on the land. The planet is the land we live on. So the argument is: Was the Lord saying "entire earth" or "entire Earth"? Or Was He speaking of the extent of the flood from His perspective, or was He speaking to Noah at Noah's level? (As a point of argument, in Job the Lord speaks of the ostrich about not caring for her young because she lays her eggs on the ground - but scientists having studied the ostrich discovered this isn't an accurate portrayal. The only explanation I could figure was that the Lord was speaking to Job at Job's level.) There is a theory by a certain man I forgot his name.. but he came to the conclusion that the Pangaea super continent was the geographical layout of the world at that time. The Bible says that the water came from the ground so he theorized that a crack in the crust let out all this water and flooded the earth. If I find the link, I'll add it to this topic but it's very interesting and highly probable from what I gather. It was the flood that caused the earth to separate and form today's land masses according to his description... its very interesting.
  17. Some people think it's allegorical because there was a documentary about it on the Discovery channel. That show was a complete hoax.. totally false.
  18. I'm being to think you may be allegorical... lol On a serious note though.. no it isn't. Why do you believe the Discovery channels' opinion on the Biblical account of Noah than what the Bible says? Are they really that wise and have even yet to know God?
  19. Jesus seemed to think the Flood really happened: Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
  20. I can't say I'm a fan of Tyler Perry movies.. they just disturb me to the core, personally speaking.. Try changing the timelines.. gangsters back in the day didn't use too much foul language and for the most part liked to be looked at as upstanding men. Have you ever seen the movie Key Largo? The bad guy there called Johnny Rocco, was pretty upstanding even though he was evil. I think those kinds of characters are the best, they are people who believe they are doing right but in their own twisted way. ...Besides, you can use wonderful language not really used these days like "toots" ...lol.... I've been waiting so long for an opportunity to use that hahaha
  21. \ \i cant find it Just give it an hour or so.. it's been really slow today because so many people wanted to see the discovery. It will come back up.
  22. God always leaves mysteries and wonders for us to think about and discover. Just when we think we know it all, we discover something else He's created to wonder about and be in awe of His sovereignty.
  23. Another job well done Lord..
