Read the lyrics. It's kinda deep. Google video: http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=Do+t...amp;sitesearch= Do they know it's It's Christmastime There's no need to be afraid At Christmastime, we let in light and we banish shade And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy Throw your arms around the world at Christmastime But say a prayer Pray for the other ones At Christmastime it's hard, but when you're having fun There's a world outside your window And it's a world of dread and fear Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears And the Christmas bells that ring there are the clanging chimes of doom Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmastime The greatest gift they'll get this year is life (Oooh) Where nothing ever grows No rain nor rivers flow Do they know it's Christmastime at all? (Here's to you) raise a glass for everyone (Here's to them) underneath that burning sun Do they know it's Christmastime at all? Feed the world Feed the world Feed the world Let them know it's Christmastime again Feed the world Let them know it's Christmastime again

Ma'am I have a bit of a different take on your thought. Of course I wouldn't insult God with an 8ft tall Santa, but you know for me personally , if I can make a few more people happy and delight in seeing lights, combined with our 8 ft tall "merry-go-round" display, I don't imagine God being too dissatisfied with me. The only scripts I've found that might come close to your accusation is that we are not to Place other God's or idols before HIM! I see no problem with decors and lightheartedness as long as we keep our perspectives in the right place. Let me ask you. In your local Nativity Scene in your church or in your community , is it well lit with Christmas atmosphere adorning lights? Or is it dull, dark and dismal? Believe me, I do understand where everyone is coming from with all the emphasis put on "santa" and the like. I just don't believe God is offended if we keep our perspectives in line and know that Jesus is the center of the adoration for Christmas time. What I choose to do with my spare time this Christmas Season is give all spare time I have renovating some needy person's home, where I can pressure wash their home, cut bushes and clean the yard that is in bad need. This is my gift to Jesus this season. But this season is also a season of Joy and Happiness and celebration.....Celebration of life with HIM who created us! Blessings Cajunboy It's fine to have a different opinion.

Shalom JamiLea, Great post. Did you write this or did you find it some place? To be honest with you sister, I found it somewhere, but I believe it as it matches up with Scripture. I just learned this a few weeks ago when trying to make a career decision so I thought I'd share it. I suppose I should've quoted it from a source. Sorry brothers and sisters It's ok. no one is perfect...accept God, of course.

Hmm...I didn't think about it THAT way. Interesting thought. I just came across this at a link someone posted at the other thread about Santa:

Cool! I wish I could clean houses quickly.
-
Honestly. Maybe they were trying to cover all the bases. Perhaps...

12 year old girls and make-up?
Brianna Nikki replied to grace222's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
I'm 12 and Thank God I don't wear make-up! I don't see why people use make-up. I mean there is nothing wrong with it at all, but I know five year olds that use it! -
Well, it was a typical Sunday morning. We were going to church. On the way there, we went past a house with TONS of Christmas decorations. In the front of the display side-by-side there were the two main decorations...Santa Claus and The Nativity! Doesn't make sense, does it?

It's true everyone has some sort of talent. Some people will discover it sooner than others. For instance my mom didn't see her talents until she was in college, but for me, I already know a talent that I have. I can change my voice to different accents and sounds. Have you discovered yours, yet?

Which is better Public or homeschool?

Homosexuality is the one that comes to mind, maybe there are others, but I wouldn't want my child in a place where everyone is constantly telling him that homosexuality is normal and anyone who says otherwise is a bad person. -

Oh, the one about homosexuality being perfectly normal comes to mind...
