  1. There is something about these verses that just make my heart sing:

Praise the Lord, O my soul.

    O Lord my God, you are very great;

you are clothed with splendor and majesty.

    He wraps himself in light as a garment;

he stretches out the heavens like a tent

and lays the beams of his upper chambers on tehir waters.

He makes the clouds his chariot

and rides the wings of the wind.

He makes the winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants.

I love the mental image the poetry of these verses give.

  2. Well, pooh, I hate it when I cry reading something, makes the words all blurry  Thanks for sharing this. It could not have been posted at a more perfect moment in my life. My new great grandson was born the same day you posted this and I am copying it and giving it to his mom. I know she will enjoy this too.

  3. yay congrats!!!!!! still waiting on my grandbaby to be tho due today lol

    love your sister in Christ,

    Rebekah David

Wow, congratulations...be sure to let me know when the baby arrives!

  4. I agree with the OP. It's nearly impossible to turn on TV with out being deluged with trashy shows (and thats just the commericals advertising them). I shudder to think of what some of these shows are like in their full time slot. I like to watch the news and would like to watch it without some over the top sexual inuendo laden advertisement.

I am scared to really get started on how awful things have become....not enough room to write it all I would think.

But as Christians this should come as no surprise to us, but it doesn't make it any easier to deal with at times. When I see all this stuff, I really do thank God that I am no longer "of the world", just in it!

  5. Bea Arthur will be missed. I loved the Golden Girls, good clean show.

She was funny, but I am not sure I would call a show filled with sexual inuendo clean and numerous scenes depicting sex with someone the women were not married to. Compared to some of the shows today it was mild.

  6. It's a bit out of my league too, but I did read the following by Francis Collins "feels that intelligent design poses a serious problem to Christian belief because it rejects Darwinian evolution, which he feels is supported by overwhelming evidence."

Collins claims to be an Evangelical Christian yet supports Darwinism. Sorry, but you can't have it both ways. Either God created everything or He didn't.

Yes I know there is evolution WITHIN a species, but there is NO evidence for macro-evolution which is the whole of the Darwin Theory, so there is the rub. We did not evolve from some goo. Genesis clearly states otherwise.

I guess it really comes down to "hath God said?" and well, yeah, He did.

  7. Examining one's inner self is a scary thing, because we know who we really are, not the face we present to the public sometimes. But is a good thing to do inlight of the fact that Scripture tells us to examine ourselves.

Thanks for the reminder to do so, Onelight.

Psssstttt  ....Onelight it's 2 Corinthians 13:5

  8. I am no scholar either but it does say in both verses 5 and 8 that Satan, "took and brought" which implies some sort of physical interaction. A person can sustain life as long as they have fluids. It says nothing about Jesus not drinking anything. Some prisoners have gone that long without food but did eventually die, however we aren't talking about just anyone, we are talking about the Son of God.

The Bible doesn't give the specifics so we are only speculating about the type of exchange between Satan and Jesus, but verse one says Jesus was full of the Holy Ghost, so who knows what is possible in that condition. When you read on down to verse 14 it says Jesus returned "in the power of the Spirit" to Galilee. Clearly the Holy Spirit was with him and personally I think that is the key to the whole thing.

  9. :bored-1: I wonder if you have to have MUP to have a party at your house? Sounds like some neighbor who hates Christians complained, otherwise, how would the police even know about it.

I agree with Fez, try and stop me from having a "religious group" in my home. Until someone changes the Constitution I will stand on my freedom to assemble and my freedom of religion.

  10. Those are tough questions and we may never know the "why" of it. We do know that death entered into this world when Adam and Eve sinned in the garden. We live in a fallen state. All of creation is suffering the effects on sin. While it may seem unfair at times, we know according to Scritpure that God sends rain on the just and the unjust (Matthew 5:45).

God is merciful and righteous. What may not seem fair to us is because we are looking through our eyes and our ability to understand. God sees everything through the eyes of love. He gave us HIS Son to show us how much he loved us.

It is difficult for Christians to understand at times, even more so for those who aren't followers of Christ. A person who has no relationship with Christ cannot possibly begin to understand faith and all that it entails.

Scripture also tells us that all things work for the good of those who love the Lord (paraphrased)/ Does that mean that everything that happens to us is good? No, but God is able to turn things around for our long-range good.

God is not working to make us happy, but to fulfill his purpose and because of it we learn to accept, not resent pain and persecution, because God is with us.

  11. May I veer in another direction to answer your question according to Gods Word?

Actually, denomination is completely man made. In the New Testament people saved and washed in the Blood of the Lamb were called "Christians." If this was pleasing to God 2000 years ago, it is still pleasing to Him today.

As for Charasmatics and Pentecostals they are like foods we eat. Some are good while others are bad like food that is "spoiled." Some indeed are very "fleshly" while others truly love The Lord with all their heart.

The way Charasmatic "truly" got started in the beginning were by catholic jesuit priest who wanted to lead people into the catholic teaching of Mary, etc. It would take a while to really get in to all this.

I know this personally as I grew up surrounded by my families/relatives being devout catholics. Thank God my Dad was the exception and my Mom. They truly got saved and began following God and His Holy Word.

The Pentecostal movement claim their start from Acts 2...Day of Pentecost.

Like we mentioned before, denomination is strickly man made and is not ordained of God. All the many branches of belief came from some man or woman saying God was leading them to start a new movement. This is not according to the precious Holy KJV Bible teaching, which is perfectly inspired of God Almighty.

God never placed anyone on earth to stand in His stead. God alone is our leader. He does anoint men and women who are true Christians to work for Him winning souls, preaching the Gospel, healing the sick in Jesus Name, casting out devils, and scores of other ministries.

It's all wrapped up in God however, being our only Head and Leader.

Christians need to grow up spiritually, quit acting like babies, start studying the Bible and praying, seeking Gods face for revival.

Then denomination will melt away and true Christians become great soul winners and workers in the body of Christ.

I was a Pentecostal pastor and evangelist for years until they actually began telling me how to preach and run my church. I instantly sent them a letter telling them to remove me completely from the Assemblies of God denomination. I made a promise to God I'd never again belong to any of the backslid, money hungry, divorcing and remarriage denominations, and I never will.

There are some wonderful preachers and Christians in denominations that love God fully. That is the only thing holding the denominations together.

    :)

  12. That is the day that Yeshua (Jesus) was raptured . And the angels said he would return in like manner.

Act 1:11 who also said, "You men of the Galil, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Yeshua, who was received up from you into the sky will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky."

So, when you ask if we have expectations, do you mean is anyone expecting Christ to return tomorrow?

no thats not what i am asking.... just asking - you know everyone has been seeing 111 for a while now interesting that that scripture is 111 dont you think?

Ok...just was wondering. I guess I am out of the loop because I don't follow what you mean about everyone seeing 111.
