  1. :thumb: doctrine I wouldn't regularly attend a church if I didn't believe what they were teaching was true.
  2. While the bible does tell us to "shout unto the Lord with a voice of triumph" this isn't something that we always do.
  3. Holiness is a separation to God-being set apart. In a practical way?? Putting away those things that feed your carnal man. Take a look at the list in Colossians 3, for some of the ways holiness is manifested in our lives.

    If you....

I agree, if you don't want to follow Christ anymore, you can lose your salvation. That verse, however, isn't saying that. If it were, then it would be impossible to return to the Lord and we know that isn't so. What some of you are missing here is the fact that when you recieve Christ as your Lord and Saviour-He gives you a new nature-you will fall in love with Him-you will no longer want to do those things that you know are displeasing to Him. You might sin yes, but your hearts desire is to follow Christ and to walk closer and closer to Him. He renews our minds and from deep within we change. This change is what shows our new birth. It doesn't happen overnight, but it is there. A change, that turns us from God haters to God lovers.
  5. Remember the parable Jesus taught about the sower? There are 4 kinds of ground that the farmer planted his seeds in. One ground was just a path, one was rocky and one was thorny and one was good soil. This parable is about the kingdom of God, Some people are like the rocky places-they hear the Word and it springs up quickly in there lives. The Word is alive to them, however the cares of this life or the love of the world comes between them and the Word and the life in Christ is withered because it has no root. Just because someone starts this walk with God, that doesn't mean they will finish the race. God's family is for all who will believe. It is not for those who shrink and turn back.
  6. Not only that, but He throws all our sins into the sea of His forgetfulness, He removes them as far as the east is from the west. He changes us-and gives us a new nature-we become new creations who want, above all, to please our heavenly Father. Those things that used to tempt us lose their hold on our lives as we become closer and closer to Him. We love Him because He first loved us and gave Himself for us. He chose us, before the foundation of the world. He knew us from the beginning of time. He writes His name on our hearts. When God looks at us He sees Jesus. Now we are engaged to Christ and He is our Bridegroom-He is coming back for us.
  7. For those who say God would not allow demons to buffet a Chrisitan, You need to read the book of Job. Really your husband does sound like he has a mental problem, please don't try to deal with this yourself. Get him help. For those of you who think you might be oppressed or bothered by demons-make sure you're totally and completly devoted to Jesus, then remind those vile spirits by whose Blood you were bought. I've only had a little experience with these things, but I know the BLOOD of JESUS scares the devil out of them

    Steven King

I think most television programs and most music popular today doesn't belong in Chirstian homes, let alone Steven King books.
  9. What kind of gifts are you talking about?????

    If you....

When you get to know someone you can pretty much tell if they walk with Christ or not. If someone told me they were saved, then I would probably believe them unless their words and deeds showed that they were not.

    If you....

Becoming a Christian isn't just believing in Jesus-even the devils believe and tremble. It is believing that you are separate from Him because of your sin and that you deserved hell, but you realize that he paid the penalty for you, so you want to live your life for Him.

    If you....

Following Christ isn't just following a religion. It is having a personal relationship with the Lord, getting to know Him, walking with Him and learning to hear His voice. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian, Clinging to, trusting in and relying on Jesus is what counts. When your heart gets filled with the Love of Jesus then you will more and more want to do what pleases Him. I do not believe OSAS- God would not force anyone to stay His child if they no longer wanted to. So, I would say that a person who truly knows the Lord and truly walks with Him and Loves Him could have their name blotted out from the Lambs book of Life if they walked away from so great a salvation. Personally though I would doubt that a person who would go after false gods of other religions was ever really saved. It's like this: every religion made by man is telling us how to reach god, but -Praise His Name forever-Christianity is God reaching down for us. PTL I would lke to give another verse-although they're all good!! How about: If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved! I'll let you in on another little secret I learned early in my walk. I was having doubts about my salvation and I just decided to start living like a believer, and doing those things that other believers did (like spending time in prayer, reading the Word, and going to church every time the doors were open and really getting lost in worship), pretty soon those things started to come more naturally to me. I have decided to live like a believer turn my back on the deciever Gonna leave it to the Lord
  13. For this very reason, we can know that the Morman church (Latter day Saints) is a false religion. They believe that an angel (named Maroni) came down from heaven and told the founder (Joseph Smith) to start a new church based on a different gospel (the Book of Morman) Galations 1:8 says: Even if we or an angel from heaven came to you and preached a different gospel-let him be accursed. Stick with the Word
  14. This is silly!! I believe in the Holy Spirit Baptism and that includes tongues. I don't listen to rock music, in fact I don't listen to any music that doesn't glorify God, and I do know that there is a hell to shun. If your not hearing ALL the gospel then maybe you're listening to the wrong voices.
