  1. I think I may understand this now. Its similar to being a hypocrite, saying one thing and doing another.

But this is more so like your mind of the flesh trying to hold on to you while the spirit grows and continuously kills the flesh centered mind. Its the sinful mind desperately grasping at what it cannot hold.

    Sound right?

  2. When we preach the Gospel we need to do so by using the law. By this I mean The Ten Commandments, the law of Moses.

If you use the The Ten Commandments to show a person just how sinful they are, the Good News really then does become Good News.

This way will produce a true convert instead of the multitude of false ones. Many of these which tend to backslide.

    Romans 5:20

"The Law entered that the offense might abound, but where sin abounded, grace did much more abound"

I think a majority of people that make a decision for Christ do so for the wrong reason. If someone does so because they want joy, peace , love, lasting happiness, they want their marriage fixed, they want help financially, then they are in for a rude awakening. They are simply coming to Christ for life enhancement. Someone has told them they have a Jesus shaped hole in their heart that only he can fill. In an experimental fashion the person makes a decision for Christ, and in doing so they get exactly what Jesus promised. They get trials, tribulations, and persecution. The then become disillusioned, and bitter to the person that gave them the Good news, and rightly so. To them they feel like they have been told an outright lie. The person that comes to Christ simply for salvation, comes for a totally different reason.

    Take this for example

You have two men on an airplane. The first man is offered a parachute and told that it will improve his flight. Well, he can

  3. This is so sad. I think the comments left on the article are just as bad! Its almost like they feel nothing from this, that its just a natural thing to act like a monster. I cant help but think of how blind they are to the evil that lays right before their eyes. The fact people were cheering and taking pictures is evil enough, but for no one to care is just as bad in my opinion.

    :)

  4. With all the worry about money and the banking system, I can not help but think of the words of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ ..

    Matthew 6:19-34

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

    Therefore do not worry, saying,

  5. Just wondering what people think of this thing.

First off, who makes the thing? I have never seen a maker on the box.

Second: Does one have to belive a ouiji board has power to be affected by it?

I personally stay away from those things the seem very evil to me.

Let me know what yall think?

  6. This may seem like a silly question to many people but I want to ask this anyways.

I know very little about Islam, and I have heard more then a few people refer to it as the enemy of Christianity.

Why is Islam the enemy to Christianity?

If someone could explain this to me I would be very grateful.

  7. We are not all Christians--- just as in the world we meet those who say they are but are not, it is the same here. It is necessary, therefore, to be guarded about what one reads and accepts as truth. This is not the most ideal place for teaching as you have a meeting of many points of view. To weed through the error is a difficult task for many believers and especially newer believers. I believe that is why there is quite a bit of angst here--some of it is pride, but speaking for myself, I have the mind and heart of the reader who comes in and reads and yet says nothing as my main focus. So I am kind of relentless to put forth the truth of the Word of God and to express my experience with Jesus Christ. We don;t have all the answers, but Jesus does. We need to be pointing to Him and to His Word.

I suppose your right, not all of us may be Christians. It saddens me that in a place like this we must be so gaurded as you put it. However you are 100% correct in that we should always point towards Him and His Word.

  8. I returned to my post this evening only to find that once again a couple of people turned it into a bicker fest. And it was locked down.

I have come to this place, convinced of what I believe but willing to see what others believe and to listen to see if I might be in error.

There are others like me, who will explain there understanding and try to discern other understanding.

Then there are those who believe they are perfect in understanding and no-one can teach them anything. They know it all.

That kind of pride is what causes all the fighting.

If you can not be taught and are not willing to listen, maybe you should not be in a place that calls for humble conversation and a willingness to atleast try to understand, and learn.

If you want to beat a drum, than WHATEVER is my answer

No matter what denomination one might be there is one very important fact many people forget. We are ALL CHRISTIANS.

They will know we are Christians by our love.

Unfortunatly that is not the case for most folks. It hardly matters how many Bible verses someone can memorize, if they are unable to LIVE the word.

By having this holier than thou attitude that I see alot we lose sight of whats really important. This kind of prideful attitude not only divides the church, but it gives non-believers a negative outlook on christianity.

How can anyone by so pretentious to think they have all the answers. No one can know it all, leave that to Jesus.
