Please join together in prayer today for the persecuted church that suffers so for Christ worldwide.
I found out through my Christian radio station that this is a day being set aside to especially lift them before our Lord. Those organizing it say this day is a focal point for unity in prayer. However, they say the entire month of November is encouraged and would be better still.
I think it is great attention is being drawn to it through this chosen (specific) date. We can all do better in this area of intercession. I know I sure can. To remember my tortured brothers and sisters in prayer everydayis a goal I hope I can one day achieve (despite my chronic illnesses which prove distracting. I'm so forgetful with excessive brain fog and drowsiness.)
I found one article online that put it this way:
“International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church is a day where we hope every church will take some time out to follow the scriptural mandate that says, ‘Remember those in bonds as if you were bound with them.’”
However, I am unable to attend a local church for medical reasons (so for me, it will need to be in my personal quiet time at home.) Local assemblies should be behind this, imo ...but to do it on our own is needful, too. Thanks for reading this.
