Citizens Want State Senators Recalled CBNNews.com Thursday, February 24, 2011 Angry citizens across Wisconsin have taken steps to recall some of their state senators in response to the battle over the Badger State's budget deficit. Citizens on both sides of the issue are using Facebook to organize and communicate their feelings about the situation. Some want to replace Republicans who are trying to drop union rights so the state can balance its budget. But others are upset with the Democrat senators who fled the state to prevent a vote on the issue. They're holding meetings and launching petition drives to recall those senators. "The goal is 20,000 signatures and to replace Senator Holperin," Kim Simac, the person leading recall effort, told CBN News. "I mean we need someone to represent us with dignity and simply getting up and running out of the state when the going gets tough is very embarrassing for us people up here in the district."
