But Christ came for all human beings, we are no longer slaves to the law, Faith comes by the preaching of the Gospel - faith can not be exercised by compulsion, not a law but complies the law without being compelled - how it understood? -through the Gospel and its implementation, we know God because God is manifested to men who trust him - so that if we do not steal is because God asks us - not by the law , - and so on - Faith without works is useless, but, doing what God ask us, we act by faith, because we trust in God. A promise or an oath, is a law because we are bound (enslaved) by the promise or oath, we can fulfill the oath, but, the obligation is not pleasing to God - God likes that, trust His word, the Gospel, and do all things by faith, because faith is exercised freely. because it is not imposing - in conclusion, faith makes us free, by faith we come to the truth, and the truth sets us free. Galatians Chapter 5 1 For freedom Christ set us free; so stand firm and do not submit again to the yoke of slavery. 2 It is I, Paul, who am telling you that if you have yourselves circumcised, Christ will be of no benefit to you. 3 Once again I declare to every man who has himself circumcised that he is bound to observe the entire law. 4 You are separated from Christ, you who are trying to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. 5 For through the Spirit, by faith, we await the hope of righteousness. 6 For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love. The law is "...our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ". It shows God's high standards, and reveals our weakness and failure (like a mirror). Israel rejected grace and boasted they would keep them so it became law to them. All the Ten Commandments are found in the New Testament (except the sabbath law --for Israel). They are God's standards (not requirements for salvation). We are saved by grace, not by rules.
