It is sometimes very hard to overcome hate and anger when others have hurt us. However, with God’s help we can do it. To accept God’s help, is to accept his teachings and his life of sacrificial love. Therefore irrespective of what we feel about the other person or what that person has done to us, we should obey God’s teachings and follow his example of love which he expressed on the cross, by expressing the same love towards those who hate and hurt us by our prayers, thoughts and actions (Matthew 5:44). We must do this deliberately out of obedience to God’s, even though we are not inclined to do it.
