Rand Paul (R-Ky.) forced Washington slightly off its axis Thursday after he filibustered President Obama's pick to head the CIA. The rare "talking filibuster" generated extraordinary scrutiny of the Obama administration's drone-strike program and revealed some surprising divisions and alliances on Capitol Hill over the president's antiterrorism tactics overseas.http://www.worthynews.com/top/washingtonpost-com-politics-rand-paul-says-hes-satisfied-with-obama-administrations-response-on-drones-2013-03-07-9b20aa44-875d-11e2-98a3-b3db6b9ac586_print-htm/

His courage shows what a lack we have in everyone else up there. We should be ashamed of ourselves for the people we have elected into office. If we are not punished for electing that bunch - well frankly, I think we are being punished and it shows up in every level of our lives if we just give it some thought. The government can now murder any citizen it chooses without due process of law under the pretext of national security. Adolph Hitler would be proud of us. He used the exact same excuse to kill millions of innocent people, who discovered far too late that their innocence would not protect them. Everything Hitler did was legal. American constitutional law, which was once the protection of every citizen innocent or guilty, is now a tissue of lies. The founding fathers and those patriots who died for liberty are now little more than footnotes in the history books. Corrupt men who now support Federal policy over the good and the respect of the whole rule us all. It will not be long before robotic death is unleashed upon us and the excuses, already composed and waiting for release to the media mouthpieces, will seem to justify it. "The US government is the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today. A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death." - Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Approaching spiritual death? The good Dr. King would not be surprised at the extent to which violence and anti-Christian principles has become an integral part of the American culture. I'm pretty sure he would agree that what we are now reaping the fruit of the seeds of wrath we've been sowing for over a century. For decades American Christians have prayed for wisdom for our leaders. It was granted, but they have used their wisdom to betray us. And there is more to come. Much more. but that's just me, hollering from the choir loft... Edited March 10, 2013 by rjp34652
