  1. I don't yet meet the age requirement.
  2. Couldn't go without air conditioning, no way
  3. The simple truth is that you can't control him. He's an adult.
  4. A phone isn't a need. It's a want, a convenience. The reason I know that is because for thousands of years before the invention of the telephone, people made it. They survived, without being in constant communication with everyone.
  5. Like I said, my son would pay for his own phone or he wouldn't have one.
  6. The only thing more ridiculous than this woman claiming to own the sun is that people actually paid her money to buy a piece of it, to say nothing of the Spanish court systems who are entertaining this nonsense. I'm glad I'm not a Spanish taxpayer!
  7. If he was my son, he'd be paying for his own phone with his own money. He's an adult. His money would be separate from mine. If I needed help from him for things like rent, food, utilities, we'd agree on a certain amount of money for him to contribute. The way I was raised is you grow up, you move out, you take care of yourself. That was the definition of a man.
  8. Matthew 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' The passage doesn't say these people actually did the things they're claiming to have done.
  9. Sharing the Gospel with as many people as I could, spending time with my husband and kids
  10. I love the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant. The first time I read it, it just seemed to reach in and grab ahold of me. Now whenever I start thinking on a wrong that I feel's been done me, I think of this passage of Scripture and am reminded of just how much I've been forgiven. It really puts things in perspective. What an amazingly merciful God we serve!
  11. Stuff like this makes home schooling all the more appealing to me.....
  12. A couple of earlier posts touched on this. What makes it difficult for me to forgive isn't the magnitude of the sin committed against me, but how intimate I was with the person who committed it. In other words, it's easier for me to forgive a stranger doing something really bad to me, than someone very close doing something minor. Also, how often I'm reminded of what hurt me plays a part. The less I'm reminded, the easier it is. When I'm having trouble with forgiveness, I remind myself of the parable of the unforgiving servant. It isn't hard after that.
  13. I think it's also important to remember that not all Scripture is instructive. In other words, just because the Psalmist is here expressing a feeling, that doesn't necessarily mean we're meant to emulate it.
