Weakness Leads to Radicalism!

Recommended Posts

In the minds of Muslims, whenever weakness is portrayed, it ultimately leads to radicalism.

For example, in 2000, newly elected Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak was hailed by the world as a peacemaker as he withdrew Israeli forces from a buffer zone it created in Lebanon. However, Israel's withdrawal led to the rising of Hezbollah – and within years Lebanon became radicalized. The perception of weakness, allowed Hezbollah to monopolize its military and civilian control of Lebanon. Now thousands of rockets threaten Israel on the very land that Israel withdrew from in 2000.

In 2005, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon called for a unilateral disengagement from the Gaza Strip believing that this would bring a level of peace – however within a few years Gaza became radicalized as Hamas took control of the region – and so we now have Hamastan.

Even when victory is achieved in war, weakness is paraded as victory in the Muslim world.

In November of 2012, Israel found itself fighting against Hamas as it launched hundreds of rockets into Southern Israel. Israel responded with Operation Pillar of Defense, and in eight days Israel took out several Hamas commanders, over 1,500 rocket sites, and nearly 100 known terrorists. Despite the success of Iron Dome, which nearly shot down every rocket fired out of Gaza, the perception was that Hamas won the war within the Muslim world. Hamas claimed it was able to avert a ground war with Israel – because the “zionists” feared entering the Strip. Politically, Hamas gained recognition as a legitimate actor from the United States as it brokered a peace in Cairo, and it was never forced to renounce violence. It was simply accepted a “hudna” – a ceasefire, but in the Muslim world, a hudna is simply a pause the war since it's objectives have not yet been achieved. What is Hamas' goal and objectives? Just read the Hamas charter! But in a nutshell, it says, “our struggle against the Jews is very great and serious” and called for the creation of an “Islamic state in Palestine, in place of Israel and the Palestinian Territories, and the obliteration or dissolution of Israel.”

The perception of weakness leads to radicalism in the Middle East!

If the United States believes it can fire a few missiles within Syria to change the minds of Muslims, it actually will achieve the opposite result – it will actually increase “radicalism” within the Middle East.

The stage is being set for a full blown war! This weekend, Russia guaranteed loans to Cyprus, which led to Cyprus denying the use of its country as a launch pad for strikes against Syria. With every action, expect an equal but opposite reaction – and so, the U.S. re-routed the U.S.S. Nimitz Carrier group to the Middle East!

Do you really believe this is going to be a limited war?

Well, the Saudis apparently don't think so. The Wall Street Journal reported over the weekend, “Officials inside the Central Intelligence Agency knew that Saudi Arabia was serious about toppling Syrian President Bashar al-Assad when the Saudi king named Prince Bandar bin Sultan al-Saud to lead the effort.”

If you have the time, read the entire article as it details plans by the Saudis to topple the Syrian President – but of course it can't topple the Syrian president without a little help from its friends!

Until next time,

George
