Anyone familiar with Ravi Zacharias?

If so how do you feel he ranks with regards to apologetics?

Looking forward to opinions...

I have read a couple of his books and listened to him on PodCast a lot.

He is a "deep thinker" for sure but I like him and have not found anything he supports to be out of line

Well, the real acid test would be how non-Christians receive what he has to say. But I don't know how to find that.

I personally think he's very good.

he is from my denomination, and we use alot of his material for Sunday School topics, I think he is very good, but he is a deep thinker and it isn't for those who aren't interested in uncomfortable topics

He is a 'Deep Thinker' but that has an appeal....In the sense that his arguments are on a philosophical level so he seems to be able to communicate to a wider audience than most...

I feel he is a good teacher, who preaches the truth but, no one is perfect.

I have listened to him, I think on radio, and I consider him to be pretty solid.

However, before answering, I did a search online and found some who claim him to be in error on certain things. One error was agreeing to speak at a Mormon conference and at the conference he failed to state that Christianity and Mormon beliefs about Jesus are not just different, but the Mormon belief would be heretical according to classic Christianity.

Another time, Ravi apparently is accused of referring to a person as a good solid Christian, who had universalist beliefs.

Whether these are true, or false or greatly overblown misunderstanding of what was actually said in context, I don't know. I think he is a good teacher, but like all teachers, scripture says to judge the teaching. The Bereans checked the Apostle Pauls teaching against scripture and are said to be noble because of their careful consideration.

He has a gift for communicating his position, from a Christian perspective, on some of the more controversial theological issues of the day.
