http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/10/13/20000-bees-removed-from-8-year-old-florida-woman-home/?intcmp=obnetwork

Thousands of bees removed from an elderly woman's home in Cocoa Beach are being moved to another location.

WESH TVexternal-link.png reports that 20,000 bees had lived in the home of 98-year-old Sevia Moore after having built a hive in her attic and awning.

Moore said the bees didn't bother her, but when she was shown the hive she said she was stunned.

Beekeeper Leo Cross used a vacuum to gather all the bees on Saturday, collecting the huge honey comb and hive. Cross says "the honey bee population is hurting right now" and it's important to save the hive and move the bees to another location so "they can go on to reproduce."

First that was a joke. Two yes she did-impossible not to and the article even said as much. She just didn't realize there were that many. :-)

I wonder what happened to all the honey the bees must have produced over the time they were in the house

I did read the article, but it doesn't say how long the bees were there.  I assumed they were there for a long, long time and there was lots of honey :noidea:

Yes but the bees use the honey they make and what they don't use they store for dry months.

Thanks.  I'm addicted to honey :beehive: and I use it in my organic handcrafted body creams for my business that I get from a local beekeeper here.  The honey on the store shelves is all imported from China and or India and is manufactured with corn syrup, molasses, lead, and other junk and is not real honey.  Real honey must be purchased from a beekeeper to assure it's the real thing.
