Namely because as head of the household and the one who God initially warned about the danger, he should have ensured that Eve knew not to touch the fruit and because she didn't obey, thus when she disobeyed, Adam failed in his duty as man and leader of the home. Personally I think that one of the stupidest,biased, fact blind, buck passing arguments I ever heard, because the Bible clearly says that when Eve is approached by the serpent, she repeats the instructions given by God, showing that she had been warned and wasn't ignorant, thus chose to disobey out of her own informed decision.
