So *shrug* turned the phone off. Edited May 24, 2005 by Iryssa

Sometimes its better to stop a conversation with someone rather than risking hurting them or for that matter you getting hurt. Take a breather and think it through before speaking to them again, that way your words are chosen wisely Love and Blessings, Angel

I wouldn't just "hang up".....until I had warned them....several times....then said " I'm sorry, I don't want this"......then I would hang up. "hello?".... "helloO?" ... realizes that no one is listening... hangs up in humiliation. I do this with telemarketers.

You could tell her you needed to go and it was still talk, talk, talk!!! I finally devised a little system. When I got ready to go, I would get up as close to the phone as possible (no cordless phones back then! ) and move the phone slightly away from my ear and say, "well, I've gotta go now. Bye." I would then hang up the phone, lol!

But that is just me. I have had a lot of experiences with jerks I guess? Maybe next time just say "You know, I really don't want to hear this type of thing, I have to go now... In your situation... no. If someone is giving you trouble, please give the phone to either Grandma, Gary, or myself. We can deal with people who are making you upset. It's better for one of us to deal with someone, than for you to have to. Then guess what... you won't have to have the weight of it on your shoulders I you little lady <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's a good response
