Shalom brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. I have question to you guys, is it okay to confess sins every night? It's just bothering me, because every day is very special, one day you live a happy life, second day, you're gone. I belive it is okay to confess sins every night, because we know God is love and He in His everlasting love, forgives anytime and everytime. Welcoming Jesus in the life after confessing sins, it's just like purifying your heart from wickedness is like cleaning your own house before coming of the special guest. I already chose to spend my life with Jesus, and put my life in His hands, because I know He never fails. Peace and blessing be upon you.

In the beginning we confess being a worthless sinner who is hellhound and completely lost without God.  We confess Christ as our Savior and submit to Him as our Lord and King.   Then we are told in 1 John 1:8

1Jn 1:8  If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  1Jn 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We no longer want to live a life of sin but we fall and need to confess often, just as a toddler does when learning to walk.  We fall less as we get older but sometimes find ourselves dealing with different kinds of sins. God opens our eyes to more as we mature.  Personally, I confess as soon as God makes me aware of my failures and don't even wait till nightfall.

God has made us new creatures in Christ.  The olds has passed away.  We are no longer possessed by sin and satan, but we need to unlearn bad habits and learn godly ones.  Paul call this putting off the old man and putting on Christ or the new man, just like when we change clothes.  So the more we read the Bible the more we are able to put on the mind of Christ, and the easier it gets to avoid the old traps of sin.
