In the words of an unknown Rabbi, "It's God's Kingdom, he should worry." The late great Doctor Walter R. Martin conveyed this from the conversation with said Rabbi over our timidity to pray boldly in the name of God. As Martin said, "When I pray sometimes people get better, sometimes they get sicker, sometimes they die." The Rabbi was saying essentially that this is God's problem, not ours. The same is true about apologetics, when you are defending the one true God and his word and his gospel. It's not so much that the truth is on our side but that we are on the side of truth. His truth. Not ours. Many times, when you keep out of God's way, his Spirit will take over (through you) and you will have answers you previously did not know. We are to study (or as Martin put it, "do the homework") but be consciously aware that defending truth is God's fight. When we try to take over the reins, which the devil loves when we do, his messengers are very well trained / inspired with familiar spirits to trip you up or lead you down endless rabbit trail arguments, suppositions, entanglements. Get God's word in you (with a vengeance) and then let the Author of God's word (the Holy Spirit) drive the tank.
