The apostles believed that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit were "echad".

We don't really have a word in the english language which is exactly equivalent.

Echad means one but in a plurality.....like when a man marries a woman they become "echad" though they are separate beings.

I don't believe in "the trinity" because those terms actually mean 3 gods who are equal. The correct wording would be the Tri-une nature of God.

One God expressed in three different ways. Yet....what does the Father look like? Is he in the form of a man, a lion, a spirit, a light???

If He is neither Spirit nor man...then what is He? When Yeshua came in the form of a man, was His Father the Holy Spirit or another form?

Again...the immortal omnipotent and omnscient Creator can not be explained nor comprehended fully by mortals.

Dang...I can't believe I'm even in the conversation!??!

I agree 125%.

I prefer the term "Triune God" because it more accurately describes the Biblical description of God. However, that in itself falls short of the truth!

The term used by Paul in 2 Tim. 4:3 is the same as that used by him in 1 Tim. 1:10.  The term is more appropriately rendered, "helathy teaching."

Ta-may-toe / Ta-maa-toe.............Doctrine / "healthy teaching"

I'm not going to argue word origins with you sir. Please don't divert attention by citing word origins/meanings. The Bible teaches us what we must do to be saved...and confessing Jesus as Lord is a requirement for salvation- it's in the Bible. Father=Son=Holy Spirit...to believe anything other is NOT Biblical and is heresy.

Be blessed

Tim

The answer is unequivicably no, you do not have to adhere to the doctrine of the Trinity in order to be saved.
