If my kingdom were part of this world, my attendants would have fought that I should not be delivered up to the Jews. But, as it is, my kingdom is not from this source.” I believe the Amish and Quakers follow the Biblical admonition to stay neutral and so do not serve in the military. Brother, this thread is for showing appreciation and honor to those who have served our country, not denigrating them and saying that their service is/was ungodly and unBiblical. You have grossly misinterpreted John 17:16 and by connecting that verse with John 18:36, you have made a doctrine that does not exist. John 17 is not teaching "Christian neutrality" nor pacifism. Peace should be the option and war IS horrible. However, from Genesis to Revelation, pacifism is not shown. In fact, the opposite is shown. When one's home, family, community, or nation is threatened - even those who love and embrace peace should rise up to protect those who cannot protect themselves. 3 1
