Wine and the Foreshadowing Of The Comforter

Psalms 104:

14 He causes the grass to grow for the cattle,

And vegetation for the service of man,

That he may bring forth food from the earth,

15 And wine that makes glad the heart of man,

Oil to make his face shine,

And bread which strengthens man’s heart.

Wine That Makes Glad The Heart is prophesied in Noah.

Genesis 5:

28 Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and had a son.

29 And he called his name Noah, saying, This one will comfort us concerning our work

and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord has cursed.

The sinful nature corrupts the produce of the earth, turning to perdition

what was intended to be a blessing.

Genesis 9:

20 And Noah began to be a farmer, and he planted a vineyard.

21 Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent.

The weightier matter is to apply the lessons we receive from what we can see,

to better understand what we cannot see.

Ephesians 5:

15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,

16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what is the will of the Lord

18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.

The Servants of the Lord and the Oil of Anointing

Ephesians 4:

11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists,

and some pastors and teachers,

12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,

13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man,

to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

The Oil of Gladness Above Your Companions

Hebrews 1:

8 But unto the Son, Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;

A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.

9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, Your God,

has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions.

They will be changed, but You are the same, and Your years will not fail.

The Anointing Dispels All Deception

1 John 2:

26 These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you.

27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need

that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true,

and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.

For The Lord Is The Spirit

2 Corinthians 3:

15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.

16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

The Holy Spirit enables a congregation to submit to and edify one another.

Ephesians 5:

19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,

singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,

20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

21 Submitting to one another in the fear of God.

The True Bread From Heaven

John 6:

35 And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger,

and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

36 But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe.

37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me

I will by no means cast out.

38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

The New Covenant Bread and Wine brings forth the Oil of Anointing

Matthew 26:

26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it,

and gave it to the disciples and said, Take, eat; this is My body.

27 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them,

saying, Drink from it, all of you.

28 For this is My blood of the new covenant,

which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Body Blessed and Broken

1 Corinthians 11:

23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus

on the night in which He was betrayed took bread;

24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, Take, eat; this is My body

which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.

25 In the same manner also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant

in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink, in remembrance of Me.

26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.

To defile the Lord’s supper is to corrupt the blessing

27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy

manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.

29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself,

not discerning the Lord’s body.

The remnant will possess the blessing

Zechariah 8:

11 But now I will not treat the remnant of these people as in the former days, says the Lord of hosts.

12 For the seed to prosper. The vine shall give its fruit. The ground shall give her increase,

and the heavens shall give their dew—I will cause the remnant of these people to possess all these.

13 And it shall come to pass, just as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel,

So I will save you, and you shall be a blessing.

Do not fear, Let your hands be strong.
