John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him

should not perish but have everlasting life.

17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,

but that the world through Him might be saved.

18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already,

because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 5:

17 But Jesus answered them, My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.

18 Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath,

but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.

19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself,

but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.

20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does;

and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son

gives life to whom He will.

22 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,

23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father.

He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

25 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is,

when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.

26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself,

36 But I have a greater witness than John’s; for the works which the Father has given Me to finish

—the very works that I do—bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me.

37 And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me.

You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.

John 6:

37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me

I will by no means cast out.

38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing,

but should raise it up at the last day.

44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him;

and I will raise him up at the last day.

45 It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God. Therefore everyone who

has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.

46 Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father.

47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me is given everlasting life.

John 9:

35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him,

Do you believe in the Son of God?

36 He answered and said, Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?

37 And Jesus said to him, You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.

John 10:

31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.

32 Jesus answered them, Many good works I have shown you from My Father.

For which of those works do you stone Me?

33 The Jews answered Him, saying, For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy,

and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.

36 Do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world,

‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?

John 11:

4 When Jesus heard that, He said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God,

that the Son of God may be glorified through it.

24 Martha said to Him, I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.

25 Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me,

though he may die, he shall live.

26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?

27 She said to Him, Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God,

who is to come into the world.

John 14:

7 If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also;

and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.

8 Philip said to Him, Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.

9 Jesus said to him, Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip?

He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, Show us the Father?

10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me?

The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority;

but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.

11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else

believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

12 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do

he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

John 17:

1 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: Father,

the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You,

2 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life

to as many as You have given Him.

3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God,

and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.

5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory

which I had with You before the world was.

John 19:7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and according to our law He ought to die,

because He made Himself the Son of God.

Matthew 16:

13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples,

saying, Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?

14 So they said, Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.

15 He said to them, But who do you say that I am?

16 Simon Peter answered and said, You are Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah,

for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

Mark 1:1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

John 1:

1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 He was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made, that was made.

4 In Him was life, and that life is the light of men.

1 John 5:

5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God

which He has testified of His Son.

10 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God

has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.

11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God,

that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue

to believe in the name of the Son of God.

20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding,

that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ.

This is the true God and eternal life.

If the witness is that someone can reject God's testimony concerning His Son, call Him a liar,

impugn the Gospel testimony of His Son and still anticipate eternal life, that witness is a lie.

Can someone trample the Son of God under foot, count the blood that sanctifies as common,

and insult the Spirit of Grace, thereby blaspheming the Lord, [Hebrews 10:29],

and have life in themselves? Clearly that is a witness of men, not God.

The witness of God of which John speaks is the same testimony of Peter, who was also present.

2 Peter 1:

16 For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you

the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.

17 For He received from God the Father, honor and glory when such a voice came to Him

from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

18 And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.

This is not the testimony of man, but of God, who spoke on the Mount of transfiguration

before these witnesses. Therefore the question is clear, does one believe that Jesus Christ of Nazareth,

the man we call Lord and Savior, is also the very Son of God in Truth. Can someone reject this report

as simply the testimony of man? To do so is to reject the entire Gospel of John,

for it is the reason he wrote his Gospel.

John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God;

and that believing might have life through his name.

This one was the deal breaker

Psalm 110:1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand,

until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

The Lord shuts them down

Matthew 22:

41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,

42 Saying, What do you think of Christ? whose son is he?

They say unto him, The son of David.

43 He said unto them, How then does David in spirit call him Lord, saying,

44 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit on my right hand,

till I make your enemies a footstool?

45 If David then calls him Lord, how is he his son?

46 And no man was able to answer him a word,

nor did any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

It is clearly stated that eternal life is in the Son, not simply in believing that

He is your Lord and Savior.

Hebrews 1:

5 For to which of the angels did He ever say: “You are My Son,

Today I have begotten You”? And again:

“I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son”?

6 But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says:

“Let all the angels of God worship Him.”

7 And of the angels He says:“Who makes His angels spirits

And His ministers are a flame of fire.”

8 But to the Son He says:

“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;

A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.

9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;

Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You

With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”

10 And; You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,

And the heavens are the work of Your hands.

11 They will perish, but You remain; And they will all grow old like a garment;

12 Like a cloak You will fold them up, And they will be changed.

But You are the same, And Your years will not fail.

13 But to which of the angels has He ever said: Sit at My right hand,

Till I make Your enemies Your footstool?

14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
