Dennis,

Thanks for the reply.

I have received a copy of the book, The Steps to Christ, and have already started reading it. It is very good so far. The scripture that you posted and the book really speak to my heart, I feel that I am on the right path.

Just one more question. Why is it that people are more concerned with the MOB and what it is, how to avoid it, etc.? Why not be concerned about how to have the Seal of God? Then a person can be sure to avoid the MOB.

In Christ,

CarolineS

Caroline,

Keep your eye single to Jesus and living by 'every word that proceeds from God' and you will be fine. Jesus is the 'Word of God'. He spoke every word of scripture through the Holy Spirit and it all is 'profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction is righteousness'. This especially applies to the Old Testament, for at the time Paul wrote this letter to Timothy, the Old Testament was the only Scripture that was in existence. There is complete harmony between the Old and New Testament.

2Tim 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

3:17 That the man/woman of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Faith is a living organism that connects us with God. It needs to be exercised in obedience and abiding to grow strong. There is a storm approaching which will require indomitable faith to endure. The gold is tried, tested and sealed, in the fire of trial and persecution. Soon we will be in the time Jesus spoke of:

Mt 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

Mk 13:11 But when they shall lead [you], and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.

13:12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against [their] parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.

13:13 And ye shall be hated of all [men] for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Only the 'sealed' can endure to the end.

God Bless and keep,

Dennis

Serenity,

The seal of God is not just a doctrine. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, He has a work to do in our lives. If we allow Him to do that work, then He seals us. His work is to 'lead us into obedience to all truth', 'every word that proceeds from the mouth of God' and make us 'Holy as God is Holy'. Those who allow Him to do His work and cooperate with Him have the 'earnest of the Spirit' which seals them. If they don't grieve the Spirit, quench' the Spirit or 'blaspheme' the Spirit during the 'testing of their faith' then they are permanently sealed in all truth and holiness. This is called making your 'calling and election sure'. Only those who continue in the faith are ultimately sealed for good.

Here is the fight of faith:

2Pet 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that [pertain] unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; (the person with the Holy Spirit will add all these things to his faith)

1:6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience (endurance); and to patience godliness;

1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity (Godlike love).

1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make [you that ye shall] neither [be] barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. (if the blind lead the blind, they both fall into the pit)

1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

These have the Holy Spirit and are following Him:

1Pet 1:13 Wherefore gird up (strengthen and use) the loins (muscles) of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

1:14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation (behavior);

1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

These are those who are on course, who will complete the journey as did Paul, make their calling and election sure, are being sealed by the Holy Spirit and will have the seal of God when Jesus Comes. They are the 'Church without spot or wrinkle or any such thing. They have heeded the words of Paul:

2Cor 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

This is what those who follow the Holy Spirit do. This is what the Holy Spirit works in them to accomplish. These are those who are 'filled with all the fullness of God'. This is what the Holy Spirit does when He seals the Children of God. If we don't do this then it is not the Holy Spirit we are following. So yes you are right, the Holy Spirit seals these Christains. Holiness, which is obedience to every word of God, is what they are sealed in. This is what is called Sanctification. Yet Scripture says that ther is a sign between God and those that He sacntifies.

Exo 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel (children of Israel are the children of God, children of the Spirit through the promise), saying, Verily MY SABBATHS (God's Sabbaths, not those old Jewish Sabbaths as most refer to them contrary to the word of God) ye shall keep: for it [is] a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that [ye] may know that I [am] the LORD that doth sanctify you (make you Holy).

31:14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it [is] holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth [any] work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

31:15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh [is] the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth [any] work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel (children of God) shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, [for] a perpetual covenant.

I'm sure that you know that the children of the flesh, Israelites of the flesh, are not the children of God, but the Children of the promise, those of faith are children of God. All the promises and requirements of God apply to the real children of God, not the dhildren of the flesh. The Israelites were the outward children of God, but all of faith are made a part of Israel or grafted into Israel of the Spirit.

God bless and lead you into all truth,

Dennis

Mark,

No need to be troubled. The Angels are messengers who bring the message of the ultimate sealing of God. They have the fulness of God in them already. They keep His Commandments. They have the Spirit of God. It is people who need the Spirit of God to seal them. They are sent with messages for God's people. They give the messages. The Holy Spirit does the sealing by leading God's true children into the truth of the messages. He leads them into obedience to the messages and to true holiness and thus seals them.

As you know the believer's faith is tested and tried to allow him to mature and grow into the 'full stature of Christ'. Some endure the testing and chastening and some don't. As long as one endures and lives up to all He knows, the Holy Spirit is his earnest or deposit of the Seal. If he is not deceived by Satan, if he does not 'depart' from that faith, if he does not 'quench' the Spirit, if he does not 'blasplheme' the Spirit then he will go on in the faith to the ultimate 'sealing' spoken of in Rev 7. Before Jesus comes He must develop His 'church without spot or wrinkle or any such thing'. These last messages of the Angels are those that finish the Sacntification of His people. Those who respond are 'sealed' in righteousness and holiness and are prepared for the tribulation time. When Jesus comes those without the 'seal of God' are consumed by the brightness of His coming.

Here are the sealed and the messages of the Angels which they obey:

Rev 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty [and] four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. (there is the seal of God, the name or character of God written in their minds, proof of the New Covenant experience in which God writes His law in the believer's heart)

14:3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred [and] forty [and] four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth (caught up to meet the Lord in the air).

14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women (symbolic Mark, not literal virgins, but spiritual virgins, no doctrines of men); for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, [being] the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

14:5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

Here are the Angels with their sealing messages:

14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, (Why would they need the everlasting Gospel again unless it has been perverted)

14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. (Why would the Angels need to tell God's people to fear Him and worship Him unless worship has been perverted)

14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city (enemy of God), because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication (false doctrine and counterfeit worship).

14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast (mystery Babylon) and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead (inside his heart or mind), or in his hand (this signifies his obedience, whatsoever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might),

14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name (the sign of his character or authority).

14:12 Here is the patience (endurance) of the saints (the sanctified or holy ones not literal Jews): here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

You see it is a call and a warning to return to the full Gospel, the full word of God, every word that proceeds from the mouth of God, to the keeping of all the commandments of God, for the 'New Covenant' experience is for Israel of the Spirit, all true believers, and is received by the Holy Spirit writing All God's Laws in the heart of the believer, including all the commandments of God. This is what the Spirit is to do, this is what we are given faith for. This is the work that living faith does.

God bless,

Dennis

Good post Dennis. :thumbsup:

Does this verse also apply:

<Isaiah 58:12>

"Those from among you shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In."

We are to return to the faith of the early apostolic church. We are to repair the breach in God's Laws. The Law is like a wall around God's holy people that protect us. The law helps to keep us holy and keeps sin out.

However, in our day, God's Law is considered a relic. Something that was nailed to the cross. We are called to restore God's Law, to repair the break in the wall.

God is calling us back to true worship, away from traditions, and false worship. He is calling us out of Babylon.

In Christ,

CarolineS

Mark,

Please read my post thoroughly. I did not say that the Angels bring the Holy Spirit. I said they bring the messages of thruth which the Holy Spirit writes in the heart and seals. The word of God is the Sword of the Spirit, the tool He uses to sanctify and seal us.

I wrote:

'No need to be troubled. He leads them into obedience to the messages and to true holiness and thus seals them.'

You need to respond to what I write, not what you think I write. You keep disagreeing with things I don't even say. Angels are messengers. Look at the Greek. They bring messages. This is how they separate the wheat and the tares. Those who obey the messages are bundled into bundles to be 'caught up in the Air' and those who don't obey the messages are bundled into bundles to be burned.

Caroline,

Yes, Isaiah 58:12 applies as do most Scriptures that have to do with restoration. In order to seal His people they must be living by the whole word of God, otherwise He would seal them is sin. The wheat and tares are being bundled as we speak.

Peter writes concerning the 2nd Coming of Jesus in Acts:

Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord (the 2nd Coming);

3:20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution (restoration) of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

Jesus won't return until all things written in the Scriptures have been restored starting from Genesis and the Garden of Eden and creation all the way down through Revelation. This obviously includes the 7th day Sabbath that He created there. Yet it also includes the restoration of the Image of God, His Holy mind and character, which he breathed into Adam. This is what the sealing is all about, the restoration of the 'character of God' in his children who obey every word that has proceeded from the mouth of God from creation onward. This is how the 'church without spot or wrinkle or any such thing' is developed. This is not a denomination per se, but a group of people who warn the 'religionists' of the day that God baptizes with fire and the Holy Spirit and has noting to do with 'lukewarm professors' except to vomit them out of His mouth into the 'lake of fire'.

Keep up your study and seeking.

God bless you and yours,

Dennis

Serenity,

Thank you for your gracious reply. I'm not sure I understand all of it, but I do understand what it means to be overfolwed by Him and to abide under the shadow of His wings.

As for towns and countries being sealed, I'm not sure what you mean. All are being sealed. A seal closes a container when it is full and doesn't let anything bad in and keeps the good secure and safe. A seal also is a mark of authority, that which designates who is the one in authority. The thing is that there are two seals, the seal of God and the seal or mark of Satan. Those with the seal of God demonstrate that God is their only Authority, they follow Him over man or the devil. Those with the seal or mark of Satan demonstrate that man is their authority, the Man of Sin. They follow the tradition, teachings and laws of men that conflict with the teachings and laws of God. There are only two groups of people, those who follow every word that proceeds from the mouth of God, and those who follows the words of man which are contrary to the words of God. The Scripture says that all the world 'wonders or follows after the beast', and receives His 'Mark'. There are but few chosen, those who receive the 'seal of God' and bow to His authority.

You see truth is very specific. There are very specific things that those who are filled with God do. We worship in Spirit and in Truth and that truth is very detailed. This is what the Holy Spirit does in the sealing and that is lead us into obedience to very specific, detailed instructions in Righteousness and Holiness.

God bless you down under,

Dennis

Mark,

No need to be frustrated with me. I am only sharing Scripture.

You Wrote:

"you say they carry the message, and the Holy Spirit is the seal----it doesnt fit the passage.....Humans, pass the message, and the Holy Spirit regenerates their heart to hear it. angels have nothing to do with it."

Here is Strong's definition of Angel:
