Jude 2, Part 2

Mercy, Peace and Love are multiplied to you.

We speak of Peace and Love often, but when we get jammed up,

that's when we all cry out “Lord, Have Mercy!”

I am feeling that the best way to go deeper into this word is simply

look at some comparable verses.

Matthew 9:13 But go and learn what this means:

‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’

For I did not come to call the righteous,

but sinners, to repentance.

One of the three “weightier matters

Matthew 23:23 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!

For you pay tithe of mint and anise

and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law:

justice and mercy and faith.

These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.

A Song of Mary

Luke 1:

50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.

54 He has helped His servant Israel, In remembrance of His mercy.

A Prophecy of Zacharias

Luke 1

:72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers

and to remember His Holy covenant.

:78 Through the tender mercy of our God,

with which the Dayspring from on high has visited us.

A Benediction from Paul

Galatians 6:16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them,

and upon the Israel of God.

A Glorious Invitation

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain

mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

 

An Admonition from James

James 2:12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.

13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy.

Mercy triumphs over judgment.

 

A Word from Jude’s closing

21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy

of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

 

Finally, the one other NT verse that has mercy, peace and love.

2 John 3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father,

and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
