I had an Aunt and Uncle when I was growing up who purchased 13 acres of land, upon which they planned to build their 'dream home'. Before any home building could begin, quite a bit of clearing needed to be done. They were able to place a small trailer on the land for when they were out at the property working on the weekends. You can be sure that the trailer was used only to eat and sleep, the work in the field was the mission. How then can we apply this proverb to our spiritual lives? I often hear people say they are seeking their spiritual gift, to then determine their purpose. Faith requires us to have the complete confidence that the Lord will provide every need when we step out in obedience to the Father's Will. Spiritual Gifts are discovered "in the field" without self-sufficiency, but trust in His Faithfulness.
