I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news. Luke 1:19. The Greek word enopion, [G1799] here translated “in the presence of”; is also translated “in the sight of”. However, in an attempt to provide a single English word to translate from Greek, enopion is most frequently translated simply “before”; as in: “In holiness and righteousness before Him,(in the presence of God) all the days of our life.” Luke 1:75. To live in holiness and righteousness in the fear of God is to abide in a continuous awareness of the presence of God. Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1. Is this the Good News proclaimed in the church today? He said to them, You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts. What people value highly is detestable in God’s sight. Luke 16:15. But Peter and John answered and said to them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. Acts 4:19,20.
