Store October 15, 2005 6:25 AM EDT OWOSSO, Mich. - Some people skip work to go deer hunting. Scott Lamphere simply needed to wait at his plumbing store to bag a buck. A five-pointer crashed through the glass front door of the business Thursday evening. "We hear this crash in our office, and there's this deer stumbling around in our back room," manager Kristina Kelley told the Lansing State Journal. "He's got these antlers on him. ... Of course, you're afraid of getting hit by them." The animal knocked a few things off some shelves and broke a radio before he ran out a garage door. The injured buck was shot by police nearby, said Lamphere, who had been working in the back of the shop when the animal showed up and decided to lay claim to it. Lamphere, who returned home last week from an Alaskan hunting trip, is a trophy hunter whose front office is filled with mounted animals. That might have been why the deer came crashing in, he said.
