No i don't like the look of tongue piercings. Just my preference. i am not saying it is sinful.

@itty-bitty lamb I do indeed think some of these legalistic preachers need first to go read Romans 14 on Christian liberty before giving ppl a hard time about things they themselves happen not to want.

About things such as getting poked, like your friend.

Or inked.

(I'm sure you agree already, right? ...... )

A tongue piercing or piercings is not sending  any Christian faith based message!

It may be sending a message, but not one relating to Christian faith, instead maybe  more a lack or even denial of it that which is Godly.

It is not "arousing" faith In Yeshua.

No I went online to look up motivations for such things.

All I know is when I went into a local fast food franchise ( Sub sandwiches) whose employees all had tattoos and piercings I lost my appetite for their food.

They just seemed unsanitary in general and aggressively uncaring about themselves to the point I figured they would not much care about the food they served up, or me. So I walked out without purchasing any food there.

Seems to me Ross Perot had a excellent point., don't make self the focus, intead make the product and it's benefits the focus.

Can i ask you kindly to

#1 - please stop quoting me around in other places, to other people, and in other threads as if to justify something.

#2 - and please stop pulling me back into the topic of piercings or tattoos, because i have already given my opinion.

@Neighbor Well....you're the customer! :)

I think you'll find that a lot of ppl in the food industry, restaurants, waiters and waitresses, would have tattoos.

Hi @FJK

Recently you said:

"...a reaction to a (normal) tattoo would happen in only a few...."

What you say about normal tattoos is likely borne out by the fact that huge numbers of tattoos are gotten without ill effect and the normal tattoo parlor appointment is prevalent in certain areas, among certain families and among certain professional demographics.

FYI:

Most of them are biblical (crosses between the shoulder blades are the most common ones) getting tattoos when your old enough is pretty much expected in the family.

Hi @bbbshuaw Q, please: So are tattoos prevalent among you guys in the UK?

Over here in North America they certainly are, especially in some areas and among some demographics.
