A walk of faith implies that we trust in God's Will for us

and accept as a blessing either abundance or lack.

Philippians 4:

11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned,

in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound:

every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full

and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

Naturally, or should I say spiritually, the word blessing

should call to mind the beatitudes.

Then there is the matter of the double blessing.

Matthew 5:

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake:

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you,

and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven:

for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Romans 4:

6 Even as David also describes the blessedness of the man,

unto whom God imputes righteousness without works,

7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven,

and whose sins are covered.

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

With this in mind, we can fully comprehend Paul's statement:

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good

to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

A believer's blessings are anchored to the Promise to Abram.

Galatians 3:

8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would

justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham

beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.”

Genesis 12:1 Now the Lord had said to Abram:

“Get out of your country,
From your family
And from your father’s house,
To a land that I will show you.
2 I will make you a great nation;
I will bless you
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.

Matthew 10:

40 “He who receives you receives Me,

and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.

41 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet

shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives

a righteous man in the name of a righteous man

shall receive a righteous man’s reward.

42 And whoever gives one of these little ones only

a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly,

I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”
