Requirements Of The Law

Exodus 23:

14 Three times you shall keep a feast to Me in the year:

15 You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread,

you shall eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you,

at the time appointed in the month of Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt;

none shall appear before Me empty

16 and the Feast of Harvest, the firstfruits of your labors which you have sown in the field;

and the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you have gathered in

the fruit of your labors from the field.

17 Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord God.

The Lord Visited Jerusalem During the Times of These Feasts during

"the acceptable year of the Lord"; but was He merely observing the Law,

or did He have His Own Agenda?

John 2:

13 Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand,

and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. (Feast Of Unleavened Bread)

14 And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves,

and the money changers doing business.

15 When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple,

with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money

and overturned the tables.

16 And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away!

Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!”

17 Then His disciples remembered that it was written,

“Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.”

18 So the Jews answered and said to Him,

“What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?”

19 Jesus answered and said to them,

Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

20 Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple,

and will You raise it up in three days?”

21 But He was speaking of the temple of His body.

22 Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered

that He had said this to them; and they believed the Scripture

and the word which Jesus had said.

The Time of Firstfruits

John 5:1 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

8 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”

9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.

And that day was the Sabbath

10 The Jews therefore said to him who was cured,

“It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.”

16 For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill Him,

because He had done these things on the Sabbath.

17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now,

and I have been working.”

18 Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him,

because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that

God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.

The Time Of The Great Feast, And Jerusalem

Was In An Uproar Over The Works Of Christ.

John 7:

1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for He did not want

to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him.

2 Now the Jews’ Feast of Tabernacles was at hand.

10 But when His brothers had gone up, then He also went up to the feast,

not openly, but as it were in secret.

11 Then the Jews sought Him at the feast, and said, “Where is He?”

12 And there was much complaining among the people concerning Him.

Some said, “He is good”; others said, “No, on the contrary, He deceives the people.”

14 Now about the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught.

15 And the Jews marveled, saying, “How does this Man know letters, having never studied?”

16 Jesus answered them and said,

My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.

17 If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine,

whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.

25 Now some of them from Jerusalem said, “Is this not He whom they seek to kill?

26 But look! He speaks boldly, and they say nothing to Him.

Do the rulers know indeed that this is truly the Christ?

31 And many of the people believed in Him, and said, “When the Christ comes,

will He do more signs than these which this Man has done?”

Jesus takes center stage on the last day of the Great Feast!

37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying,

If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink

38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said,

out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him

would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

43 So there was a division among the people because of Him.

These were no ordinary feast days!
