KANSAS CITY (Worthy News) – Police say a mother of two has died after a historic railway station on the edge of downtown Kansas City became the latest backdrop for a mass shooting as gunfire erupted near the end of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl celebration.

Details emerged Thursday of terrified fans scrambling for cover in the U.S. city shootings that also left 22 people wounded — including at least 11 children.

Wednesday’s shooting outside Union Station happened despite the presence of more than 800 police officers who were in the building and nearby, including on top of nearby structures, said Mayor Quinton Lucas, who ran for safety with his wife and mother.

Three people were detained, and firearms were recovered, but motives were not immediately clear, according to investigators.

The 22 people injured in the shooting ranged in age from 8 to 47, and half of them were under the age of 16, Police Chief Stacey Graves said at a news conference Thursday.

Radio station KKFI said Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the host of “Taste of Tejano,” was killed.

Lopez-Galvan, whose DJ name was “Lisa G,” was “an extrovert and devoted mother,” added Rosa Izurieta and Martha Ramirez, two childhood friends who worked with her at a staffing company.

Izurieta told reporters that Lopez-Galvan attended the parade with her husband and her adult son, a loyal Kansas City sports fan who also was shot.

Nearly 1 million people were estimated to have been in downtown Kansas City on Wednesday when gunshots sent scores of people running for cover.

As we move further and further away from God and his laws as a common belief and moral standard for what is right and wrong in life, we will see more and more of this.

A famous leader a few years back proudly announced that we are no longer just a Christian nation.  He was right about this, and we are seeing the result of moving away from being a Christian nation with common standards originating in Christianity on our streets on a daily basis.

How long will God continue to tolerate this, both for ourselves and for the world as a whole?

Not long I think, but that's only what I think and may not be what God thinks at all.
