Jeremiah 45:

1 The word that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Neriah,

when he had written these words in a book at the instruction of Jeremiah,

in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying,

2 Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, to you, O Baruch:

3 You said, Woe is me now! For the Lord has added grief to my sorrow.

I fainted in my sighing, and I found no rest.

4 Thus you shall say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: Behold, what I have built I will break down,

and what I have planted I will pluck up, that is, this whole land.

And do you seek great things for yourself?

Do not seek them; for behold, I will bring adversity on all flesh, says the Lord.

But I will give your life to you as a prize in all places, wherever you go.

"Woe is me now! For the Lord has added grief to my sorrow.

I fainted in my sighing, and I found no rest."

Ezekiel 21:

1 6 Sigh therefore, son of man, with a breaking heart,

and sigh with bitterness before their eyes.

7 And it shall be when they say to you, Why are you sighing?

that you shall answer, Because of the news; when it comes,

every heart will melt, all hands will be feeble, every spirit will faint,

and all knees will be weak as water. Behold, it is coming and shall

be brought to pass, says the Lord God.

"But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him." 1 Co 8:3

Amos 3:

1 Hear this word that the Lord has spoken against you, O children of Israel,

against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying:

2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth;
Therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.

3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?

1 Peter 4:

17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God;

and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

18 Now

If the righteous one is scarcely saved,
Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?

19 Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God

commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.

James 2:

12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.

13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy.

Mercy triumphs over judgment.
