If I have "666" put on my license plate by random chance, I am not the anti-Christ nor am I going to hell. If I graduate number one in a class of 666 this does not make me evil. Instead, the Mark stands for the nature of man, that man would rather serve and think about the enemy of God than their Creator. The number is a RESULT, a manifestation of an evil government getting its citizens to turn against God. Many books out there talk about this. Satan worshippers etc take joy in boasting this number. Many christians get concerned or at least are guarded when 666 pops up, don't ya think ?
