There is almost nothing in common with the gnostic view of the creation.

There is everything in common. :emot-heartbeat:

It teaches that the soul is immortal and part of a bigger substance or something close to these lines. For example, it teaches a pre-existing spirit that inhabits a fallen body which is then meant for testing and then escape from the fallen body. This is Gnosticism summed up when it comes to the creation of the world mate. :emot-heartbeat:

Im not excactly sure what you mean by the soul but we believe we will never cease to exist as I'm sure you do. we dont believe in being part of a bigger substance. after we die we are resurrected and our bodies are perfect. I dont know where you get the escaping from a fallen body part.

You're missing the point, your original view is of a pre-existing universe and pre-existing spirits, thus creating a Gnostic view.

Just a note from the mod team. Any mormon must be able to defend their belief system from the Bible alone. They may not use the book of Mormon or any other texts that are unique to the church of LDS. Our statement of Faith here at Worthy says this:

We believe that the 66 books of the Canon, from Genesis to Revelation are the exhaustive, inerrant and inspired word of God.

Because we believe this, we also believe that every truth claim must be fully defendable from this source. For that reason we do not allow people to use other sources to justify their belief system

The "Christian" Gnostics taught that the universe and spiritual world were pre-existant (eternal). A fallen Aeon (a force of God that takes on its own personality) created the world and trapped souls inside bodies. The world, all the physical material, to a Gnostic is evil. The way to salvation is through a "secret knowledge" and transcending our flesh in order to free our spirits.

Mormonism holds a very, very, very similar view to creation that Gnostics did.

Back up. You admit that there may be flaws in both revisions of the Book of Mormon, yet you continue to ask about the Bible? Aren't you concerned about the numerous (over 4,000) changes made to the Book of Mormon; a book which the LDS claims is the true and unadulterated word of God?

Well, I believe The Holy Bible, to be more correct, the KJV for example, is the Word of God, word by word, dicatated by God. Jesus Christ.

Joseph Smith died on his sins, he is not in heaven, he was a man, lost in his ways, he created a false religion.

Only Jesus Christ is the truth.

Joh 14:5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (By Jesus Christ ONLY!)

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

God Jesus Christ is The Only way to heaven. He's word is the direct word of God.

Accept His gift of Love, He gave His perfect word for us.

God Bless You.
