Shalom,

More verses that say we must abide in Jesus to receive eternal life.

Matthew 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Acts 14:21,22

21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,

22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

1 Timothy 4:

15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Romans 11:

13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.

19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.

20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.

24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?

25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

Colossians 1:

21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

1 Corinthians 9:24-27

24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Philippians 3

8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Matt 21:

28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.

30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

Ezekiel 18

20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.

23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

25 Yet ye say, The way of the LORD is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?

26 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.

27 Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.

28 Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

29 Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the LORD is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?

30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.

31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

Jhn 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Hebrews 6

1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

3 And this will we do, if God permit.

4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come *1,

6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Rev 20:

8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

Matthew 12

24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

1 John 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

Mat 25:29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

1 Kings 8:39 Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;)

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

1 John 1

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Luk 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Heb 3:14 - "We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the END the confidence we had at first.

John 12:36 - "Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may BECOME sons of light."

1 CO 9:24 - "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? RUN in such a way as to get the prize."

2 Titus 4:7 - "I have fought the good fight, I have FINISHED THE RACE, I have kept the faith."

Heb 12:1 - "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and LET US RUN with perseverance the race marked out for us."

Phil 3:14 - "I PRESS ON toward the goal to win the prize"

REV 2:26 - "To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations

REV 3:21 - "To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne".

Jeremiah 8:20 The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

A majority of these verses your pulling out of context deal with non-christians to begin with. john 3:18 specifically does not pertain to christians losing salvation nor is Hebrews 6. Hebrews 6 1-8 specifically deal with the issue of the christian jews that were considering leavign christianity to go back to judaism and they were being told that even if it weren't impossible for them to return they would have to do a series of things that are impossible one of which is to have all 9 of the gifts of the holy spirit. No one has had all 9 gifts.

Then your trying to use OT to support loss of salvation, and that is a totally different subject. OT was based on bringing the jew back into righteousness through sacrifices representing repentence. NT is justification through faith and redemption instead of being brought into righteousness. Righteousness was taken care of at the cross when the law was fulfilled.

[i have no desire to disown Him, do you?,, or just how many Christians do you know of who wish to disown Him?

pabrain.

The fact of the matter IS, Followers DO deny Christ whether it is because of some trauma in life, unanswered prayers, weak Faith in Him or whatever the case maybe, THIS DOES HAPPEN. You may not personally know of anyone who has but it does happen.

I was litening to a Chuck Swindoll radio programme where a well known Evangelist had a young Pastor with him on his tours who was SO on fire and really impressed this evangelist. Many years down the track , the enangelist met up with the pastor who was now homeless, doing drugs, booze and completely denied the existence of God, using the foulest of language when speaking about HIM.

The reason why Jesus spoke about DENYING HIM IN FRONT OF MEN IS BECAUSE it is a fact.

UNBELIEVABLE but TRUE.

Judas Iscariot sat at the MASTERS feet and look what he did. Judas wasn't a robot..he wasn't preprogrammed to betray Jesus, but he made that choice..He denied Jesus and succumbed to satan and his flesh rather than listening to his Spirit.

Personally i don't believe judas ever believed on jesus christ. he had a head knowlege of him but not a heart knowlege.

As far as one turning away, you cannot turn completely away from him before he comes looking for you and bringing you back. Just like a shepard goes and looks for his wandering sheep, he also breaks our leg so to speak like the shepard will do to his sheep in order to bring them closer. He may break our legs through a series of events that will eventually take us down to homelessness, or he will take someone in your life from you like he did me. Either way it accomplishes the goal of bringing us closer to him. IF we don't listen, he will let satan kill our bodies and bring us home to him. You see, he will allow us to die a physical death before he will let us turn away from him. Eternal security!

I believe that if the Truth is presented to you countless times and you reject and keep rejecting, this causes the Heart to harden overtime and the danger of that is it can harden to the point of no return.

The Bible mentions various states of the heart hardening.

Shalom Eliyahuw,

As I keep saying, that is not for you to say. You are not equipped to make that judgment of Judas' heart. Only G-d can. What you believe is your opinion , but since you have no way of knowing Judas's heart, you cannot say for sure. Only G-d can.

Shalom,

Let's look at this verse:

James 5

19 My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, 20let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

Eliyahuw,

Anyway, I wouldn't want to worship a God that is that weak that he cannot keep me safe in a salvation he offered me.
He offered it to Adam as well. Maybe you and Adam aught to get together and complain to God. Complain that He didn't create your correctly. That you should not have a will thus not responsible for your actions.

Of course this leads to the totally incongruous concept that unbelievers are losing their salvation. Do you really want to say that?

ONLY believers can lose faith. No one can actually lose salvation because no one has it guaranteed in this life. We do IF we are faithful. But therein lies the problem with man. We are not faithful. We can become unfaithful, lose faith. No faith, no salvation in the end. We will not inherit the full promise.

I would be really interested in seeing where you get this view from scripture.

How clear can you get? Jesus says CLEARLY....

John 14 v 15...

IF you LOVE Me, KEEP My COMMNDMENTS.

The verb keep is not imperative, but future..Those who LOVE Christ will PROVE their DEVOTION by their OBEDIENCE. (notes from NKJ Study Bible)

Imperative: 1. not to be avoided.

2. being or expressing a command, commanding.

Obedience to God's Word SHOWS your Love for God.
