When you pray, whom are you suppose to pray to? Is it God, Jesus, Saints, somebody else?

If you do pray to the Saints, do you think they have any power to act on your prayers?

The reason I'm asking is because I currently go to a bible study, mainly because I have so many questions that I want answered. However, sometimes you can't come out to the people you know and ask a stupid question like this. Hopefully, the people in this chat forum will help me resolve some of the dumb questions that I have.

Answer: Yes. Pray to Jesus. No. Do not pray to "saints," or to anyone else.

Pray often. Pray daily. Pray hourly. Pray always.

" 1. Pray to fellowship with Jesus,

In the spirit seek His face;

Ask and listen in His presence,

Waiting in the secret place.

Pray to fellowship with Jesus,

In the spirit seek His face;

Ask and listen in His presence,

Waiting in the secret place.

2. Pray to fellowship with Jesus,

Fully opened from within,

With thy face unveiled, beholding,

Single, pure, and genuine.

3. Pray to fellowship with Jesus,

Seeking Him in confidence;

Learn to touch Him as the Spirit,

Looking up in reverence.

4. Pray to fellowship with Jesus,

Speaking nothing in pretense;

Ask according to the spirit,

Praying by the inner sense.

5. Pray to fellowship with Jesus,

List

Waht's "other"? That is interesting!

I voted "other," as a matter of fact.

I pray as often as I am led. Sometimes I am deficient in my prayers (Okay, often), but nevertheless, I try to pray as often as I can.

I don't know, I figured if there was an option that I was missing, I might as well include that. If someone does check the other button, then they can explain why they did so in a reply if they feel comfortable doing so.

I pray to Jesus, the Father, and HS, as I'm led. They're all the same person, anyway.

I don't pray to saints because I don't see a need. Why go the long way around, when I can go straight to the Source?

:)

jesus said in the bible I am the way to my fathers house. Jesus also said anyone trying to get in any other way is a theif and a liar. Praying to any other thing besides God is worshipping another God.

Great question. You should pray to those in heaven, who are part of the Body of Christ, who can help you in your struggles, or for whatever reason. Saints do not have the power to grant your prayers by themselves, only God can grant our prayers, but the Bible tells us to pray for each other. If you were to ask me to pray for you, I would. I wouldn't say, no, dont ask me to pray for you, just pray directly to God. Of course I wouldn't, I dont think any Christian would. It is a good thing to ask people to pray for you. That's why we should ask the Saints to pray for us. They bring our prayers to God. It's really about a great community.

This can be seen, for example, in Revelation 5:8, where John depicts the saints in heaven offering our prayers to God under the form of "golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints." But if the saints in heaven are offering our prayers to God, then they must be aware of our prayers. They are aware of our petitions and present them to God by interceding for us.

So pray to Jesus Christ, pray to God, and pray to the Holy Spirit, but it's also a great idea to ask others who make up the Body of Christ, including friends on Earth and Saints in Heaven to pray for you as well.

I pray to my Father In Heaven because that is how Jesus taught us to pray, and I close my prayers with "In Jesus Name" because we are told to pray in Jesus name.

And I'm the other one. :laugh:

I sometimes pray 10 times a day and then there are times when I don't pray at all.

Yeah I know.
