Munari, you asked, where in the scriptures does it say that God created evil, it is found in,

Isaiah 45:7 - I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Praise the Lord    :exclaimation:

harvester,

So it does...

My version is a little different though:

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create the darkness, I make well-being and create woe; I, the LORD, do all these things.

That seems like a significant change in wording. I wonder why it is so different from version to version?

Lee,

Munari:

First, I did not say

Lee,

Ok, I'm following.

You are correct, I refer to God as God... sounds funny, but that is the English equivalent of who He is... I assumed you meant IAUE as God, but I wanted to make sure.

My idea on evil is that it was not created, but it was allowed to occur as a result of free will. I believe that evil is not a part of God's ultimate divine plan and, as I think (could be wrong) Revelations eludes, evil will ultimately be utterly destroyed. So, I guess my belief is that evil has no place in God's plan and God did not plan evil, but He allowed it and used it in order to fulfill His plans.

Munari:

I believe we are in agreement as to "evil".

Now, do you recall why we were talking about that?!

If not, I will gladly go back and look it up ...

Blessings!

I think it was because you posted:

Munari:

The One who created us did not create religion; religion is something fabricated (but not "created") by Nimrod (after the flood); religion is profane; the profane cannot be made holy.

And since, according to the report in Scripture, IAUE even created evil, it is not accurate to say everthing He created is itself "good" -- even though it IS a fact it is "good" He created everything He created (even though evil is not "good").

Lee

and I responded with confusion about God creating evil... I think that's it...

Before discussing any of those things in particular, I'd like to look at this.

evil things cannot be made holy

My question is, why not?

Am I really reading this correctly?

Tigershark:

Greetings!

However it might sound to anyone, Munari's question is, at least in my opinion, valid simply because she asked it.  But no matter what you might believe about that, please continue ...

------------

Munari:

At the moment, you have me stumped for an answer!  I am quite convinced evil (or the profane) cannot be made holy, and I can spout a bit of rhetoric along that line, but I am going to have to do a little digging to offer you the kind of answer I would expect ...

I will be back!

Blessings!

Lee
