We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, .......... No matter how far we have come we are able to hold true to the spirit of Independence. As a nation comprised of many people of many races, creeds and religion it is imperative that we understand what that declaration means. We sometimes forget the struggles our forefathers went through, the mistakes in history that we have made and focus on the future. Today more than ever our declaration of independence is important especially to those who come to our shores seeking the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. Are we perfect? Nope not by a long shot but we try to help other nations as best we can even if sometimes it is not appreciated by certian factions. We as a whole stand united against tyranny, opression and evil governments that opress people in the world. Sometimes it would be easier not to get involved but it is important that others get humane treatment from their governments especially when they are murdered at the whims of despots. I'm glad I don't live by "your" truths. "My" Truths are the same as yours. It's all a matter of when. I've gotten over my worldly possessions such as when my country was established. It's nice to know there is unity in the church. I'm sorry, I should have been more simple. Get offended all you want, I'm not persecuting you for your beliefs, I'm pointing out that it's a useless thing to celebrate. Just like Capitalist-mas for most people. The same Jesus sent Peter down to the sea to catch a fish with a shekel in its mouth so that His temple tax and Peter's could be paid so that the temple priests would not be offended.
