I know what you mean, though...we figure if we're not doing those things, we won't be chastised as such... but seriously, we do want to eagerly seek all the gifts of the Spirit according to Paul. Here, the Lord says that people will be able to do things only someone with spiritual authority could possibly do!...such as driving out demons, performing miracles and prophesying. In my estimation, this says that the people cast out demons, etc. in Jesus' name - that is, by claiming to represent divine authority. That doesn't mean that Jesus approved of their activities. Reminds me of when Moses appeared before Pharaoh, and the royal magicians duplicated most of the things that Moses did. "Miraculous" acts do not always prove divine approval. All Praise The Ancient Of Days First of all the issue was not your salvation, but do you need to do signs to witness. Post my words that say you aren't saved. I only told you a Scripture to read for the purpose of you determining the matter for yourself. I have absolutely no way of knowing your spiritual condition. Now if after you read that Scripture and it made you assume that I was saying that, it is entirely possible that The Holy Spirit was trying to get your attention, and when that happens with a seeker, satan is always Johnny on the spot to turn God's conviction to placing the blame for that guilt feeling elsewhere than on ourselves. Have been there and done that many times over, and thank God those occurences are diminishing. This should be happening not only in conversations with other Christians but with the preaching of God's word regardless of where and when. Thats how The Holy Spirit sanctifies us with The Truth. Also my reply back to you was an attempt to in some way transfer the guilt i feel for witnessing when i should not be back to you by falsly acusing you of something you did not say? well i asked a question i did not make an acusation against you. So because i do not do the following signs: 17And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." I must keep quiet not witness for My Messiah Jesus. 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; So i must now disregard this call?
