:) then, I don't know why it is actually posting the "changes" you've made to your post.

Here is me clicking after I type- and then highlight-

Here is typing and then click and highlight-

Here is me trying it your way.

Well huh. Lemme figure this out.

Ok, I put the above quotes into the reply box so I could see the little tag thingies. On the top two, the bolding on/off tags appear at the end, and on the third, the bolding on/off tags (both of them) are at the beginning and at the end as well - also the size on/off tags are at beginning and end - but the first size on tag has 'size=3' and the other has quote marks around the 3.

:whistling:

Well, let me at least explain a bit about the tags; maybe that will help. Anything that appears inside these things [], the computer will try to use as formatting tags. For the tags to make a change, there must be text between the on tag and the off tag. The off tag looks just like the on tag, except that the off tag also has this thing in it /. It's hard to show an example in a post, though, because the on and off tags are supposed to disappear into the formatting when you post.

Hmmm... Ok, here's an example that shouldn't turn into formatting and disappear.

[rant]It's so infuriating when these computer thingies won't work right![/rant]

Ok, see? The on tag, [rant], is at the beginning of the text, then comes the text itself, then the off tag, [/rant]. If it looked like this instead:

[rant][/rant]It's so infuriating when these computer thingies won't work right!

or this:

It's so infuriating when these computer thingies won't work right![rant][/rant]

then the text wouldn't be between the on and off tags, so no changes would be made to the text.

So in a real example, we have:

Both italics tags before the text - no change.

Both italics tags after the text - no change.

Italics on tag before the text, italics off tags after the text - text is italicized.

Is that any help?

(Btw - Scarlet turned purple? Should she be holding her breath like that?)

I really do not understand- :whistling: why my computer just started doing this weird stuff a few weeks ago-

Have you run a virus scan? If you haven't, you might try Trend Micro Housecall. It's free. Just follow the instructions they give you. It takes awhile but it works well. Also, when was the last time you cleaned out your cookies? These things might not help at all but it's worth a shot.
