Well I see nobody wanted to take a swing at this..

So here's the answer..!

It takes 3 Gosple accounts to to fill out the story of the feeding of the 5000...!

..LUKE 9:10 and Mark 6:45..They were at Bethsaida...John 6:5..Jesus asks Phillip where to buy bread...John 1:44..Phillip was FROM Bethsaida...!

So the logical one for Jesus to ask was Phillip...This is whats known as "internal honesty"...Each man wrote each account apart from the other..YET they all come together to prove out each other as being factual..!

Thats NOT the actions of Dishonest men..!

God is great huh....!

Good answer, but you still have to say why did He ask Phillip and not Andrew or Peter?

Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

Peter was from Capernaum. They have actually excavated what they believe to be Peter's house.

Other "Internal honesty's" can be found in the beating Jesus took at the hands of the chief priests and elders..MATT 26:67:68..Here Jesus is beaten and asked "tell us who hit you"..ONLY when you read MARK 14:65 do you find out they covered his face...Both accounts make sence..and "mesh" together..!

Mark more than any other Gospel...refers to Jesus as "son of man"...( which is a quote from the Apocgraphal book of Enoch...that meant God Messiah )...yet this Gosple was written by Mark to Gentiles..who had no knowledge of Hebrew scripture or traditions...

So if your gonna preach Jesus to gentiles as being the son of God and refer to him as the "son of Man"..It hurts your case..!

Why not refer to him as the "Son of God"..and just change what Jesus said to help your cause and win them over...?

But Mark didn't change one word of what Jesus said EVEN if it hurt his case to gentiles..He kept the words of Jesus the way he said them..!

That's not the actions of a liar..Mark told the truth of what Jesus actually said even if it hurt his case...!

Internal honesty..it's everywhere..in the Gosple of Jesus Christ...!

Well,the answer is simple.

It was just Philip's turn to be tested regarding his faith in the awesome power that the Master possessed.Jesus just wanted to check how much Philip believed ,after seeing many miracles in the past 1 yr. that Philip was with Him.

This is a good thread Eph - what are some more internal honesty examples?
