"You must work out your own salvation in fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you, inspiring both the will and the deed, for his own chosen purpose. - Philippians 2:12-13 The "religious spirits," in an attempt to put constraints upon our freedom as a result of the finished assignment of the Cross, add "human efforts for salvation," and deceitfully demand for the so-called scriptural "working out your own salvation" as justification! That is "false doctrine."
