DAILY MEDITATIONS AND AFFIRMATIONS - 272

Luke 1:18 - "And Zacharias said unto the angel. Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years."

Luke 1:34 - "Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, since I do not know a man?"

Both Mary and Zacharias asked how these miracles would occur, but it is evident that Mary asked "how" in faith while Zacharias asked "how" in unbelief. It is clear in scripture that unbelief doesn't please God (Hebrews 11:6), but the Lord doesn't mind us questioning Him for the purpose of instruction so we can cooperate with His will in our lives.

Abram knew that it was God's will for him to have a son, but Abram and Sarai came up with their own plan which caused them and the world much grief (Genesis 16:1-6), Abram would have avoided many problems if he had asked the Lord how He was going to accomplish this miraculous event.

If Mary had not questioned this angel, she might have reasoned that Jesus would be born through the natural union of her and Joseph. This would have been a grave mistake. It would have disqualified her from being used.

Affirmation:

I KNOW IT'S NOT ENOUGH JUST TO KNOW GOD'S WILL;

I CONTINUE TO SEEK THE LORD UNTIL I KNOW GOD'S PLAN FOR ACCOMPLISHING THAT WILL.

Isaiah 26:3 - "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee."

PEACE IS NOT THE ABSENCE OF CONFLICT, IT IS THE ABSENCE OF INNER CONFLICT.

Romans 8:6 - "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace".

Galatians 5:22 - "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith."

"Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations." - Revelation 22:1,2

The Lord calls His vessels, those that are even empty; He calls them to come and drink of His Spirit, to come to be filled fresh, strong.
His wind will blow away the staleness, the familiar, the comfortable, but it will blow in a NEW THING:

You will know it by His peace that will be in the midst of it.
You will know it by the instructions of truth from His Word that will establish it.
You will know it by the presence of His Spirit that will hover and instill it – write it on your hearts.
You will know it by the quickening of His Spirit to your spirit.

You must choose to come. For He has given you the RIVER OF LIFE already.

Will you allow His water to overrule your thinking, and wash away unclean thoughts, negative thoughts, thoughts of anger, rage, disappointment, and fear?

Will you allow His water to come and to take down all that would cause your thoughts to come against His highest plan for you?
For He wants a pure and holy people – filled, spilling over, with the river of God.

Come. Do not despise thirst, but come, for thirst is a calling card of His Spirit to come. Be not content to linger and wander in the desert of brokenness and disappointment, but set your face like flint, and come to the River. For He will part the Red Sea for you, too; for the Blood of Jesus has already won all that concerns you, but you must come.

John 7:38,39 - "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.' But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive;"
