World Rulers - The First People.
BEGINNINGS
Q. Who were the first people?
In the beginning God created man and woman, (Adam and Eve) and placed them in the garden of Eden. God told them to –
`...be fruitful and multiply: fill the earth & subdue it; have dominion over....` (Gen. 1: 28)
However it was only after the fall, that Adam and Eve began to have children. Cain was the first born, Abel was second. Later Cain killed Abel, and then wandered the earth. Adam and Eve had another boy, and named him Seth. More children followed, sons and daughters. (Gen. 5: 4)
Because people lived for hundreds of years the family group developed quickly, with people being able to marry sisters and brothers as the genetics had not deteriorated as today.
Cain married and built the city of Enoch, named after his son Enoch. Cain became the head of the first civilization on earth.
`Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of Nod on the east of Eden. And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. And he built a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son – Enoch.` (Gen. 4: 17)
When Seth had a son then people began to call on the name of the Lord. From his line came many people who looked to God.
`And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the Lord.` (Gen. 4: 26)
Government.
God gave man dominion over the earth but when Adam disobeyed God he forfeited that to Satan who held sway over him. Judgment was in the hands of God & we see that when He punished Cain.
