  1. Joe, Matters of the heart makes life either ecstatic or miserable at times. I'm sorry for your pain! To find someone you think is "it" and to learn later they are not, it can be hard-very hard. On a positive note, at least you hadn't had even MORE time with her than you did. It would have been harder the more time you spent with her. You never know what God has planned for her. Years from now, she may remember you and may remember the "certain presence" you possess that truly only comes from being a "Christian." You also don't know what influence you are having on her life right now...she may very well be thinking of what you told her/how you acted/God-something that she's never addressed before. I honestly believe God brings people into our lives for a reason. We may never know what that reason is, and it may cause us a lot of pain, but I hope you take comfort in knowing that God is in charge and knows what's best for you. He won't let you down. You know He won't let you down! Take good care! When you meet "the" one, you'll be so very thankful things happened as they did. God bless, Joe!
  2. Thanks to all of you for your responses! I agree that the body we have now is only a vessel: we are even told so (others posted this/verses)... Gepeto--what a wonderful way to look at organ donation! I never thought of donation in terms of prolonging one's life so that they may make a decision for Christ!! AWESOME!!
  3. Thanks, Bob, I am seriously thinking of it, just because I want to donate organs (if they will be "good") and I will have a closed casket, no matter what. I didn't "think" there was anything about cremation in the Bible/ after all, the body is just a vessel for here, anyway. I had never thought of it (cremation) as an "issue" until I mentioned it to someone and she kind of wigged out. Thanks to ALL of your responses!
  4. "Significant and scary" unbelievable at times-AMAZING what is being produced!!
  5. Every other "religion" is based on "DO". Christianity--it's based on "DONE". AWESOME!!
  6. I have always found it "easy" to be around Christians and be "Christian" when I am with them--as I posted in the other thread, the CHALLENGE is when you are OUT of that environment!! I think God puts you in certain places for a reason.

    seeking answers

Hi AngelD, It's good to ask questions on this forum: there's a lot of people who understand where answers are found in the Bible. Also, you will learn from reading as well as posting. As I understand your questions, God made us for Himself.
  8. It's my experience when I go to a different church, usually a handful of people will acknowledge me, but most will shy away.

    About divorce...

I still don't understand this either, Christopher...and please don't anyone think I'm being crued, but along with the defining of "adultry" I have heard that many people look at "lust" as being adultry, as well...which brings to my mind pornography.
  10. I'm going out on a limb, here, and hope I can express myself with the correct words.
  11. John-thanx for sharing, and no-as of yet, I don't think a keg would be appropriate (ask me in a 'few' years, though...)

    About divorce...

" Yeshua (Jesus) clearly states "Anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultry." " Xan, but where does it say this in the Bible? Where does it say that if there is a divorce and then a man remarries, that is considered adultry? I have never heard this before.

    About divorce...

Hi Xan, Where is that found? (thanks for responding to this post, too)

    About divorce...

Hi Christopher, I see no one has responded to this.

    Partake worthily.

If anyone had to be perfect before being "allowed" to partake of communion, the grape juice would ferment and the bread would petrify. NOBODY is perfect. There wouldn't have been a need for Christ's death to begin with if that were so.
  16. Wisdom...some days, I think "oh, oh--I must not be living "right," because I haven't had to deal with any annoyances that seem to come when I have more 'on days for God.'
  17. "I know people can pull out of these things if they try." "Little children dying of cancer makes a financial situation pale in comparison. It is not what we can give our children that counts, it's what we teach them." "I lived without a phone for years and paying for the internet would have been unheard of." Yes, Teri, you are ABSOLUTELY correct! AMEN!!! ABSOLUTELY correct!!! I heard a saying years ago, which helps me when I get frustrated: "I can do anything I set my mind to if I concentrate on HOW to do it rather than why I can't." I thought of that tonight as I read this post...
  18. Sometimes, I think the closer you ARE to God, the more temptations enter your life and the more hardships one must endure! Good post!
  19. Hi Bluewaters, "I just can't think anymore.......I just don't know what to do nor where to go to." Teri has shared with you a very personal story (which she did NOT have to share at all), and has given excellent suggestions.
  20. Teri, You are an INSPIRATION!!! ~TRULY AWESOME!~

    Mormons?

Hey, kid... You know, I'd like to know about the Mormons, too-I really don't understand what they believe.
  22. Bob, If we do that, poor George will self-destruct (somehow, an 'exploded George' conjures up less than a pleasant image! :cheesy:
