Basically there is no reason for spirits (Holy spirit excluded) to contact you. If you made contact with one be careful, ask him (or her) if Jesus came in the flesh. If the answer is a strong yes, start praying hard.

Is there any mention anywhere in scripture of the US?

This is an odd topic, sometimes god answers prayer requests by not granting ones wish (for good reason) and sometimes he answers prayers by granting the wish to discipline you.

I am very careful with the TV folks, not a big fan at all, except for Billy Graham. I especially do not like Joel Osteen, something bothers my spirit about people becoming rich off of preaching the word.
