  1. Lcevallos, Excellent example!! This is truly a prime testimony how our money should be spent. To feed (Spiritually and physically) the children of God. By supporting them you could possibly be a great tool in enabling the word to get to many that wouldn't otherwise ever receive it. God bless you and your mother!! With love in Christ.
  2. Have you read any of the criticisms of this hypothesis? Here is one if you are interested. If you think that pin pointing questions "evolutionists" can't answer will make them reel then you are sorely mistaken. It is the knowledge that we don't have all that answers that drives scientists. It is the religious who think they have all the answers, I think perhaps you are a victim of what is termed Freudian Projection. Negative Cool, Thank you for the link, I do appreciate your concern to show me the truth. But unfortunetly, in my studies I have noticed that once a christian finds evidence to prove creationalism, the atheists come out of the wood work in a frenzy. Now, I have read a few retorts, but as you can even read for yourself the secular scientists can not argue with Gentrys science or his facts...so they begin to attack his interpretation. The one thing that can be argued, they jump on it with a vengance. Once again, thank you.
  3. Hello all, fun topic! LOL If it's simply trying to get an evolutionists mind reeling, than all you have to really do is pin-point the questions the evolutionists can't answer. There entire theory is that life started from a single cell organism. Well, this in itself is an oxymoron due to the fact that with modern technology, we see that there is no SIMPLE cell. All cells are very complex in nature. If we look into a cell we can see many parts (If you will). There is the nucleus, mitochondria, reticulums, golgi apparatus, etc. We proceed to go into the nucleus we find chromatin which eventually forms a chromosome. We dig a little deeper into that chromosome and now we have billions of DNA strands. Moving further, those same DNA strands are nothing but code after code of proteins, the proteins are chains of amino acids. Upon disection of DNA it takes a map that would boggle most minds...It's trails and trails of code. But eventually, we run into a dead end...this ends with protein. Yet, it takes protein in order to read the code. What we have here is the ever famous "What came first, the chicken or the egg?" One Dr. Kurt Wise stated it like this. "It's like having a tape. The tape has all the information on how to build a tape player on it, but without the tape player, you can't listen to the tape in order to find out how to build that tape player" This is the same problem scientists/evolutionist run into trying to figure out how a simple cell could have developed all the encoding....It can't happen. Another key question, is the fact that with modern day technology, we can recreate virtually any stone. The one rock we can not create is granite. Inside granite, contains Polonium 218. Polonium 218 has a half life of 3 minutes. Well, in order for a polonium halo to exist inside of a rock, due to it's very short half-life, That rock would have had to of been created and cooled within 60 minutes tops. We see these Polonium halos in the granite.1 hour opposed to billions of years is no small difference. Robert Gentry wrote a wonderful book titled "Creations Tiny Mystery" that goes much more into this for the interested reader. God Bless you all With love in Christ.
  4. Hello and God bless to all. As I read I don't really see an answer to the question that was asked. I did see that some did a great job at keeping it in context to what it was talking about. The actual scripture was basically describing that the end of sacrifice would be done in ONE sacrifice (I see that someone did clarify this) and not in many as the Jews were doing on a year to year basis. Now, I have been told by some that my words come out more harsh than I intend them too, I want it to be known that I am working on this, so please bear with me, I am trying to come off loving in my post as to not cause people to believe I am attacking them...because I am not. As far as Hebrews 9:27 goes, the appointing for one to die once is referrering to christs sacrifice as stated above. But in the way that we must focus on this is knowing that much of the scriptures speak of a spiritual state. Christ specified many many times that He came to take away the sin of the world. We know sin means death. Does this mean that people shouldn't die anymore? absolutely not, yet when we become saved, we suffer a spiritual death and are born-again in Christ. So if we focus on the fact that one death could very well be spiritual, what about the judgement? Well, if we come to Christ and fall before Him (figurtively speaking) and accept Him into our lives, He forgives us of our transgressions. We are then made Righteous before God. Why shall a righteous person before the Father be judged? We are not. Our judgement comes from within. We judge ourselves in order to be saved. In order to truly be saved, you have to know that you are a sinner and need Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:31-32 states this: 31For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. Therefore, we have our judgement. Us being chastened and refined. Just as the Lord says He does to those that He loves (Rev. 3:19) Furthermore, we have to focus on the scriptures as well that state that we have been baptized already into His death (Romans 6:3-4) and Hebrews 2:9 that states that Jesus Himself, tasted death for us all. Now, whether you are a pre-trib, mid-trib, or post -trib...if you take this scripture (Hebrews 9:27) as a literal physical death...than actually NONE of the rapture stances match. Say, we must perservere through the tribulation and by the grace of God, we live. What now? Jesus comes back for His second coming and than what? calls us up to meet Him and we come back to earth. Well, we still have never tasted physical death. This is the time era when we rule with Him. To use this logic to say that this proves the pre/mid trib can't happen doesn't make sense either. Why so many believe in a Pre-trib rapture is not to comfort each other like we are weak and don't want to see the tribulation (not like anybody really does if they are honest) so we trick ourselves, yet it makes scriptural sense. Speaking again of the 70 weeks of Daniel, we see that 69 have come to pass. One week still remains. When Daniel was getting this prophecy, The messenger states that seventy weeks have been decreed for YOUR PEOPLE. "Your people" is speaking to the Jews directly. Now, we do know that there is neither jew nor gentile in Christ, but if we see the last week as the final 7 years of the Jews, than that must mean the church age is over. We are the Church age not only because of Jesus, but we are the age that holds the Holy Spirit in us. Before Jesus, there was no indwelling of the Holy Sprit, God had His own plan for His chosen people. God also stated that He would never forget His promise. He is not done with the Jews yet. This would make sense to why Enoch nor Elijah ever died. They may be the two witnesses that are to preach to the Jews in those days. The jews even in Jesus' time wondered if He was Elijah...they were continuously waiting for him to return. We have to know that God is not done with the Jews yet. We see Israel getting back there nation...that has never in history happened. Even more mind blowing, is the fact that not only did they get their land back, but for two thousand years they spoke other languages rather than Hebrew. Never again has this happened in history. God declared this would happen in the book of Zephaniah (3:9). So, just food for thought, take everything you have thought about the church being in the tribulation time, and replace it with the setting in Israel encompassed around the Jews. It would make sense as to why the Temple must be rebuilt. It would also make sense why Jesus said to the Jews standing in the temple that they would not see Him again until they proclaimed Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord (Matt.23:39). It is not hard to realize, just as the old testement was put "on hold" that the age of grace could could likewise be put "on hold". This does not necessarily mean that Jesus' atonement was limited, nor does it mean that animal sacrifice will become they new form of atonement...that simply would be a slap in the face to what Jesus did for us, yet, the Jews much like the days before Christ, They will have to find salvation without the calling of the Holy Spirit. It happened before, it can happen again. We can't think that the Holy Spirit can be taken away with the church here, and we have to wonder how this anti-christ will gain power with Spirit filled christians like ourselves still here. Furthermore, Christ continuously, referred to us as His bride. Studying the history of the traditional wedding of the bridegroom and bride....the Marraige supper took place for 7 days. Once the 7 days were up, they would both go away to their new home. These are my thoughts though, and I know many disagree. I used to get upset that many disagreed but not anymore. I know that those who are saved will ONE day be with Christ regardless of the timeline. If I am faced to stay here through the tribulation, I will die happily for my Lord. Peace and Love to all in Christ.
  5. Hey MummieOscar, Very good question! I do believe Shiloh was correct in saying that the Jews don't feel sin is individualized. They would make atonements for the nation. I have always been intriged by the Jewish traditions and have done much studies. But for anyone that has even glimped momentarily into the Jewish ways, knows it's a very complicated yet enlightning way of life. notice I say way of life and not religion. They are able to take the words of God, as we should and use them interchangably to note how one should walk in their life. I am by NO means an authority on this subject though, so I will give you a link and pray that it helps with your questions. http://whatjewsbelieve.org/explanation02.html Take care, With love in Christ.
  6. Hey coffeespiller87, Much like the previous statement, I have to agree that I have heard many different interpretations of this passage. Therefore, I will give my thoughts on it and hopefully it may shed some light. I must add, that I do hold a dispensationalistic view on Revelation, so if this is not your cup of tea, you may hold different thoughts and thats ok as well. The way that I've always look at it was during Chapter 6, Jesus is in Heaven at this time. He is the one in charge of opening up the seven seals. After He breaks the first seal, we than see in verse 2, the white horse. To me, it wouldn't make sense if Jesus was opening a seal for Himself. This seems to be the kick-off of the tribulation with the anti-christ (whoever or whatever that may be) being revealed. Once again, because I hold the dispensationlist view, I believe in a pre-trib rapture (for those of you who do not believe this way, it is ok, please don't start a debate. thats not the purpose of THIS post) therefore my thoughts are that He who restrains satan, is now removed and he (satan) can now move freely. The reason for my thinking that this is the antichrist, is we know that satan mocks and copies the things of God in his own fashion. For this reason the white horse resembles a form of peace and/or victory. In the book of Daniel, we see this son of perdition making a peace treaty that will be broken mid way through the tribulation. My thoughts are this: The jews denied Christ because they didn't feel He was what they were expecting. They thought the Messiah would bring actual peace to the land of Israel...they mistook the prophecies of what peace it was though (this we know). Therefore, my thoughts are that the antichrist will bring peace to the land of Israel...they will probably hail him as the long awaited Messiah. The reason for the crown? could be that on earth he has much power...could be for the fact that we see many angels, faithful or fallen wearing crowns in the bible. To keep it simple, just flip a few pages in revelation 9:7 where we see the "locusts" from the abyss. They seem to have what looks to be a crown of gold on their heads. Many believe these "locusts" are some form of demon, that is why they have a king (abaddon), or it COULD mean that God has allowed him the power of the earth for the time being, therefore it shows him "getting a crown" where as of right now, Christ wears the crown. As far as the bow is concerned, one author (not myself) writes this: The bow is also a symbol of war and conquest. Some see here a reference to the feared Parthians. They were well known for their archery skills in battle. "A 'Parthian shot' still means a final, devastating blow, to which there is no possible answer" (William Barclay, The Daily Study Bible Series, "The Revelation of John," volume 2, revised edition, p. 4). The dreaded Parthians, on Rome's eastern flank, were an undefeated enemy. In a failed invasion, the Roman armies were defeated in A. D. 62 by the Parthian general Vologeses in the Tigris river valley. The disaster must still have been remembered in the days when Revelation was written. The churches in the Roman province of Asia (to whom the book was written) must have been quite aware of the Parthians as bowmen riding white horses. Such a horseman could serve as an immediate metaphor of military power and conquest. However, Revelation's visions and content contain many dozens of allusions to the Old Testament. Here we also find the metaphor of the bow as a symbol of conquest (Psalm 46:9; Jeremiah 49:35; Ezekiel 39:3; Hosea 1:5). So, I hope this helps you some. As I have said before, if this is not your way of thinking, for I know not all hold this view, I hope that you can still pull something out of it. Take Care With love in Christ
  7. Hey Lcevallos, No preaching here. I understand what you are going through. I may be "hung out to dry" for my words but that's never my concern when it comes to my fellow brothers and sisters. I've had the same problem for years now. It's not that I hate going to church, it's frankly I'm more theological than most churches in my area. With that said, please...in no way think that I am claiming myself to be more wise than others...But I do appreciate a solid and sound doctrine. Many of the churches that I have gone to strayed from solo scriptura and began adopting new ways of teaching. It's hard when you have a home church and have to leave for whatever reason. I can also understand that in some churches, praise and worship take up more time. We can never neglect giving praise and worship to our Lord, but at the same time I understand that you have a hunger for the scripture. Whether people want to except it or not...studying the word of God; praying to Him for understanding, knowledge, and wisdom; And giving Him complete glory upon an enlightenment of the scripture is a form of praise and glory. You are in faith, trusting in Him and the word in which he gave us. Faith is what the Lord desires. Now, for the words many would love to crucify me for: Don't be legalistic (not claiming you are). Notice how many go to church because the bible SAYS SO? Well, isn't this the same mentallity that Jesus rebuked the pharisees for? because they followed the law because it SAYS SO. He want's us to do things that line up with scripture from our heart. Yes, the bible DOES say to not forsake the gathering of believers. We have to take the scriptures as a whole to get the full meaning out of them as well though. Jesus also said that the sabbath was made for men, not men for the sabbath. This mentallity shows us that God wants what's best for us. He doesn't make rules because he can or wants to see just how much we'll do. He loves us. Moving further though, He also knows that we are weak. It's like a herd of sheep. In that heard, they can often stay safe and help each other. Yet, if one strays on it's own, it is more susceptible to attacks from a nearby wolf. Get what I'm saying? The reason for going to church isn't because YOU HAVE TO. It's suggested we do in order for the group to edify one another and keep each other strong. Not to mention, somewhere in you, you have a gift. We all do. I'm not speaking of some evidenced based Holy Spirit Gift at this moment, I'm speaking of the gift of giving, knowledge, wisdom, faith, etc. You possess one and it's that gift that you need to use in order to edify others. As we see in 1 Corinthians, Paul speaks not of self-edification, but edification of others. Just as you need to be lifted up at times, you're brothers and sisters likewise needed to be lifted up by a gift that you may possess. Much like you, I have a strong passion for the Lord. I read constantly, always in prayer, give when I'm lead, give praise and glory to His name for all things. I love the Lord with all my heart, soul, and strength. I, much like you, have a hard time finding a church. I've been praying about it and was finally lead to one that I feel I will be happy with. Only time will tell, but if this is where I am lead...than it must be right. I believe you said in a different post that you miss the hymnals? All praise and worship is in different forms. Some may lie on their face giving complete respect and reverance to the Lord, some may dance themselves naked just as David did...God knows your heart and accepts the praise that He see's from within. If you miss the hymnals, you may be like me. I go to First Baptist Church. I'm not saying you are baptist or need to become one, but if you crave the praise that comes from the hymnals and thirst for the word of God...you might want to try a church like that....just a suggestion, not saying you have to. Hope these words find you happy and well, With Love in Christ for you and all that are His, Murse32 P.S. - You said that you are lonely and enjoy studying. You are MORE than welcome to contact me via message here or I can give you my email and we can talk and discuss scriptures. I know it's not a replacement for a local church...but it might get you by until you find a new church home. Take care.
  8. First and foremost, please ignore any that preach old testement law to you. Yes, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever but as we have seen through His scripture, His purposes do change. In the old testement He was leading a physical people into a physical land and fighting physical wars. We see now, with the new testement that God hasn't changed, yet now focuses on our spiritual being, focusing on our spiritual destination (Heaven) and fighting spiritual wars (sinful nature). Tithing in the old testement was something that needed to be done in order for Israel and it's people to be blessed and prosperous. Now, we are to focus on our riches in Heaven. Am I saying that people should NOT give to their church that they attend? Absolutely NOT!! Must it be 10%? Absolutely NOT!! Let's look at Galatians 6:6. "The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him". This verse basically says that many preachers and teachers are full time. They have dedicated their lives to the word and we know God provides by using his tools (us). So it is good to give to your church when you feel the need or even just a little of what you may have. BUT, let us now look at the words of Jesus...Health and wealth preachers always tend to ignore this verse as well, I find it disturbing, yet interesting.... Mark 14:7 "For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you wish you can do good to them..." Notice Jesus didn't instruct for them to keep the laws of tithing...noticing he didn't place a percentage or time on the offering. We are Christs. We are to have the law written on our hearts and guided by the Holy Spirit. If you are led to give to someone, you should by all means give. By ingoring what is put on your heart to give, you are fighting God as using you as His tool and by that, missing out on so many further blessings (And NO, I'm not talking about the false doctrine of 10 fold or 100 fold if you give). Im talking about the elation we feel when we know we did Gods work. And future blessings because you can be trusted. (Matthew 25:14-29) Remember, If He provides and gives you extra to spare, you will be expected to do what's right. That means if he places a needy person in your path, you should do what you can...He's depending on you to take care of that sheep for the day. For much that is given, much is expected. I hope these words have helped you some and pray this message reaches you in good spirits. Your brother in Christ. In love.
  9. Furry tongue is an oral yeast infection basically. It's often associated with the injestion of a broad spectrum antibiotic. Normally you have yeast and bacteria in your mouth at all times. When someone takes a broad spectrum antibiotic, it disrupts the normal flora of the mouth allowing the yeast to feed on what normally the bacteria would have taken care of. This allows the yeast to flourish and causes a furry tongue. It can also cause Candiasis or most often referred to as Thrush.
  10. When you read Mark 3, you see several times that it was Jesus who "appointed" the apostles. This is showing you that he selevtively hand picked who it was he wanted for whatever reason. When Judas commited suicide the remaining 11 thought it would be neccesary to pick another, therefore they simply cast lots and let "fate" decide. They made the error of allowing man to choose what God chooses. Paul, like the others did see Jesus after the ressurection on the road to Damascus (Acts 9) and became blind due to it. In fact, in Jesus' own words, He says of Paul..."Go, for he [paul] is a chosen instrument on Mine..." (Acts 9:15 NASB). God does all things for His glory. God understood that by Paul being His apostle, would make an extreme impact on the world as they knew it. Paul before that journey, if you read, was a leader in persecutions of the Christians. With Paul proclaiming he was now a follower of Jesus, would force those who knew him best to listen to understand the change that was made within.
  11. Paul, Once again, you are not the only person that suffers from this. I find myself trying to think about issues during the day and can't, yet when I begin to pray, my prayer will step off the path and that issue becomes all too clear. I wouldn't worry about God feeling it's a sin or offense...God knows your heart and knows what you need before you even pray...not to mention it's the spirit in us that mediates our prayers. One person mentioned they fell asleep during prayer....that seems to me, that is because you are in fellowship with God and become so comfortable and relaxed these issues happen. People seem to want to "LEARN" how to pray so bad, yet the bible says we don't know how to pray for as we OUGHT to (romans 8:26...and Im not speaking about praying in tongues). So relax, pray as your heart leads you and let the spirit do it's job and in time you shall be refined. We are only righteous through Christ, yet we are to pray in righteousness...it's a difficult task, but through the grace of God, we are able to communicate to Him, through Him. God Bless brother.
